This particular car has two tanks, one for petrol and the other for paraffin. They would burn the petrol first to heat the atomizer up and then switch to paraffin for normal running. As we're not quite that crazy the spare tanks acts as a handy back up....

No and I've no idea if it would work. There's a tank of compressed paraffin under the seats which is burnt to heat the tubes up for the flash boiler. The lever in front of the steering column adjusts the amount of water you pump in and and the one behind is the steam cut off for the engine. There's a pump on the engine to keep the paraffin compressed as well.

Most of the early cars ran on pariffin, and used a mentholated spirits tray to heat the wax liquid, before they would run the atomizing burners on this fuel. Mentolated spirits, is simple kerosene mineral spirits, and methyl alcohol used much like a modern camping sterno fuel can to heat the fuel oil (pariffin) Just like a colman stove or a kerosene blow torch (blow lamp) these may use other fuels, but must be re-jetted at the fuel valve to do so. This is like re-jetting of a carborator.

hi is this based on the same principle as the boesse liquid nitrogen engine.and also could you place a microwave magnetron to make the super heated steam .has it got a magneto as a guy tells me a starter motor can become a magneto and polarisisng the block can make a car run on air (moisture in air) hence hydrogen and oxygen and the polarised engine becomes a lightening bolt van de graff motor.appreciate your views melvin in derbyshire

Is the Turner Miesse similar to the Serpollet?
@manxrailwaysyessir11 жыл бұрын
Not really, they both have flash steam generators and burn paraffin but the Serpollet is more refined
