One of the simplest and best tests I've ever seen. Great video.

I bought a couple of those Turnigy 1258tg servo's and could not be more pleased.. I ran them in my Yeti's when I had them and the worked great.. What sucks is they were only like $23 when I got them now they are like $10 more.. Which is still a deal.. My next order I'm gonna get like 5-6 of them.. Another thing to note is the Turnigy 1256&1257 are good too.. Nice video!!

I really wish Jang would bring URC back up as that thread had a lot of useful information in it, as did a ton of threads on there. I bought one of these servos to have as a backup a few months back and have finally gotten around to using it, and mine will not center itself, upon further inspection you can turn the pinion coming off the servo about an hour in either direction before the servo motor catches. It was only $11.99 so I am not going to complain to much about it, but it seems to have better speed and torque than the two Traxxas 2075 servos it replaced in my Summit. I am contemplating getting the 4 pack of them as $39 for 4 servos is such a steal.

hi bill can you tell me if these digital servo can be used with ARDUINO ? thanks

I don't have any experience with ARDUINO, I guess the question is if ARDUINO supports digital servos or not?

I have 5 of them on a 3D airplane and face some centering problem. Does anyone had those problems too? Is there any way to fix it? Thanks.
@billdelong5 жыл бұрын
if the servos are more than 6 months old before you started experiencing centering issues, then chances are the gears have slop from excessive wear, I would take them apart and inspect them... replace gears if necessary.

I don't own this servo anymore, I have since upgrade to the JX aluminum case brushless servos instead, they are perfect for all my 1/8 cars :)

hello truly the servo is good I'm asking you why I'm going to use it in a cuarte scale model! greetings Horacio

not sure if this servo is rated for your model, I would contact the manufacturer for your car and see what they recommend for minimum torque requirements.

I don't own this servo anymore, I've upgraded all my JX servos to the brushless version... anyway, I've never had any issues with my 2A BEC's on all my cars.

@tonyallen86266 жыл бұрын
there not lifting the weight their just straightening the wire, you need string that doesn't stretch
@billdelong6 жыл бұрын
huh? the wire remains straight, the hole is exactly 1" from center of servo arm, lifting the weight, this is how you measure torque
@tonyallen86266 жыл бұрын
+Bill DeLong as soon as you twist wire around like you have to secure the weight it has a spring affect that's why your weights are swinging all over the place instead going straight up and down
@billdelong6 жыл бұрын
@@tonyallen8626, they don't swing on the very first upward motion, that is the net effective test of torque... when I release the load and swing it back down quickly, then they start to swing, no big deal... if you see some of my other videos using the same method, there are some budget servos that can't lift the weight at all which proves the stated ratings for those servos were bunk.

Bill, I wanted to ask you if you ever had any problems with the JX. I bought one just to replace the crap servo on a Turnigy Trooper. I didn't need anything special it's mainly for my kids. The trooper is cool, but I thought the JX would be a cheap, great upgrade. The first one I bought would stick to one side. I guess the best thing to do would be to show you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4LEkquPiJWshdU Surprising Banggood sent me another one and this one is a little better but still sticks to one side once in awhile. Could it be controller/receiver? I have Turnigy GT3X and whatever receiver that comes with. thanks for any info!!!
@billdelong8 жыл бұрын
+JAWS1376, skip to 1:45 in my video and you'll see that I get a similar delay, not sure what the deal is with that, but fortunately I don't drive a car like that and don't experience that problem under normal use :D
@JAWS13768 жыл бұрын
+Bill DeLong would you consider it broken? even the no-name servo that came with the trooper would turn the truck. imagine coming out of a right turn, but the wheels never turns back. I can handle a little delay but not a 6+ second delay I've never seen anything like it.
@billdelong8 жыл бұрын
+JAWS1376, yeah that's definitely strange, not sure if it's the servo, or if the servo is drawing more current that the BEC can handle? It's behaving like a brownout, do you happen to have an external BEC available? If so, I'd give that a try and see if the root of the problem may be that the servo draws more current than the internal BEC can handle? Maybe hook up a different servo to Ch1 and see if it can continue working without brownout when the PDI servo freezes, that will tell you if it's a brownout or if the servo is simply freezing up independently from the BEC.
@JAWS13768 жыл бұрын
+Bill DeLong Bill I appreciate the help. I hooked up the servo to my Talion's ESC and and it works perfect. I guess in the back of my mind I knew the Hobbyking Trooper (electrics) was the cause. man, what a big waste of money. I bought the Trooper for my daughter for Christmas and it's run fine for about 15 min. anyways thanks again!!!
@billdelong8 жыл бұрын
+JAWS1376 glad to hear you got it figured out, those ESC's that ship with many of the HobbyKing RTR's are often under powered and anytime you upgrade any other component, then you probably need to upgrade all the electronics to play it safe.
