Thanks for the heads up about the mode swapping, yes it is a bit more complicated, but yes it is doable I am shooting a video on how it is done so to contribute to the community on youtube who has helped me out on many other things. I will post it video response when its done.

Thank you forth the thorough review! I think that this is the first actual review I have seen for this radio. I held out on buying it because I'm hoping they release a version with a module that works with the internal antenna. But I am beginning to regret that decision.
@Nubyrc12 жыл бұрын
Yea I am surprised to see no one has made a flight test video, I really would like to see how different modules work on it and if that antenna in the handle works or not.

Check you radio for pot centering, mine were horrible rendering the radio useless. Calibrating did not help. I returned it and went back to the 9x which is much better.

I have a HobbyKing question ? I ordered a new TX and a quad prop kit about 6 weeks ago. I am in NC and my shipment has been in NYfor the last 5 days and the prop-kit has been in my own hometown for the last 17 days according to the tracking. BTW it took me about 6 weeks to learn how to track thru the HobbyKing site and all the Chinese BS. My question is -->Is this a normal shipping time? Ive seen on yt where people talk about a US warehouse. Is there a better way to order?

I was having trouble falling asleep last night, but this video was perfect - 5 minutes of it and I was snoring already! A+++++, would use again!!! Seriously, the information density is atrociously low. How about make a plan before filming?
@Nubyrc12 жыл бұрын
LOL oh man it was a ton of work, I am still learning how to set up radio now, Im not sure if I am going to be able to make video for a wile however I found one on here where someone else already did As for them being "ball bearing gimbles" I had completely took the gimbles apart because there is pin swapping involved, and never seen any ball bearings! They just have regular fit, the gimbles are not complicated and easy to take apart so see for yourself.

this is the best review i have seen so far for the 9xr very informative
@GeorgeBonez11 жыл бұрын
My 9XR cam in a few days after I made my last comment but the time-line is not correct because it says my last comment was 3 weeks ago. Thats NOT right! . I have had my 9XR for about 4 weeks now and IT FREAKIN ROCKS! I got the Mode-2 so I dont have to swap anything as I am in the US. Folks I know that the 9X people are loyal and highly critical of the 9XR but I am not a 9X guy. I am or was a Futaba guy and for the money I am MIND-BLOWN at this TX!

comprei um estou esperando chegar vamos ve o que dá vou usar frsky como módulo pois uma coisa enteressante nessa módulo é a resposta bem mais rápida que a original do 9x

Is that a South African voice I hear. Please tell me you know of a good place to fly in Cape Town, preferably close to the Northern Suburbs. Looking for a place to maiden my Bixler 2, It will will also be my first flight.

Really, wow, I had seen a video of the radio taken apart and I was happy to see the back just comes off, but I guess they did change something on the gimbles, still it can be done, and seeing as HK was out of Mode 2, I will ahve to swap them if I want the radio anytime soon, Just checked the order and it has not even left Hong Kong! Otherwise are you happy with it?

Did they build in the programmer? Have you attempted to connect it to EeePee editor?

Theres got to be a catch between a $50 Turnigy and a $300 Futaba, Spektrum, etc radio? Some thoughts please.
@airoscar10 жыл бұрын
in my humble experience, turnigy is built cheap, but it works well. In fact, I believe it's more reliable than a Spektrum in the field. but i'd take a futaba.

what does the module do..................is it necessary?
@richard9681611 жыл бұрын
We're the one's paying the money. We're allowed to say whatever we want. Once you get a few models down the road we expect things to be well thought out. HK embracing open source is a way around a lot of shortcomings. But it's not very 'plug and play'. Yet.

great wonderous tx but it is very heavy. which is not really a problem.

I'll be sticking with the stock 9x thanks...lol. Not enough practical changes to bother with this unit. I'd rather study and spend time on aerodynamics!

I pressed like, as you are a very good reviewer, showing us the practical side of the TX. Good stuff!

The "transformers" styling makes this radio look like it is aimed at pre-adolescent kids. This is a huge, immense step back from the 9X styling IMO, making an otherwise good radio look like a child's toy. Frankly I'd be embarrassed to show up at a flying field with this radio.
@AlexCavaz10 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, i like futaba shape
@rcsoctrang8748 жыл бұрын
+corisco tupi you can paint its front plate (they also sell various color plate for replacement)

Thanks for the review. Shame it's such an ugly thing. Nice to see some added features I find the pots being on the top as in the original 9X much more useful for accessing with fingers in flight though but i guess that is just my flight style.
@brettb251612 жыл бұрын
No that will not work. you have to buy a transmitter module for the 9XR and then a receiver compatible with the module.
@brettb251612 жыл бұрын
Its not as easy as the 9X. there guides on RCgroups how to do it.
