Geometry nodes are basically the reason I gave up on learning blender, it's like learning mandarin. But when I see your gumroad I realise it is a blessing that you genuinely make it accessible for anyone willing to at least try expressing ideas.
@erik....

You don't have to learn Geometry Nodes, other than the basics like scattering sugar on a donut. There are many more things you need to learn first, like basic modeling, lighting and so on.

@@erik.... You're right, I believe the frustration comes from simply being too impatient to reach a remarkable and worthy level while using the coolest addons combined w/ basic knowledges

stick with it. I struggled with geo nodes. you just gotta find good tutorials.

Unless you find that kind of stuff genuinely interesting, it is a huge waste of time. Basic art skills will always be more important - shape, color, proportions, rhythm, etc. I would rather pay to use someone’s node creation than waste precious time learning a coding language someone else has a fun time working in. I look at it like music production - I don’t need to learn how to code a custom reverb algorithm to “sound unique”, i’ll just find a good reverb plug-in and use that creatively. The end result will always be the most important thing, doesn’t matter how you get there.
@erik....
@erik.... Жыл бұрын
@@pianoatthirty I wouldn't say it's a waste of time. There are many simple every day things you can do so much quicker in GN than regular keyframing. But there's a difference between basic understanding which will take a few hours for someone who already knows Blender, and advanced use.

Dude, i just wanted to let you know that this is probably one of the most isnpiring things i've ever seen done until now with Geometry nodes, Shaders, Math etc. Following you since i've found your painterly shader and was wondering if you would try something more complex with it. Glad i was right :)! Really amazing stuff! This solution is far superior to the older one, but the older one has probably set you up to create this. Now... we just need a printer from geometry nodes for real life!

This is truly one of the most creative things I've seen in a blender video. The fact that each stroke follows the form is truly remarkable. Maybe I'm over reacting a bit, but I've been using blender for roughly six months and I've never thought you could do something like that

This is genius!! I love that you show the frustration you experienced and showed your research and colaboration. So many assume that people who do amazing things just know how to do them and don't consider the work that goes into it. You wanted an effect and you didn't stop until you figured it out. Your perseverance is incredible!

I've found this super interesting as someone with 3d blender skills (mostly for animating, but recently made my first toonshader based on the "lightning boy studio" toonshader) but a way stronger preference for the 2d animated look, I've been looking more towards greace pencil for that, but this makes 3d mesh really exciting again!
