Store Bought Icing Hack!
This recipe can be used to make any store bought icing taste more like homemade buttercream
What you need.....
2 lbs. ( 908 g) Store bought icing
1 lbs (453 g) Unsalted butter (at room temperatrue)
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
How to make this.....
Place icing, vanilla and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
Cream on medium speed until smooth.
For light and fluffy icing, switch to the whip attachment and beat on high for 2 minutes.

About JJR:
Joshua John Russell is a pastry chef and cake designer from Atlanta, GA. He

Idea time: medieval castle inspired cake. Not a castle cake, castle inspired. But you could totally add a drawbridge and “oil” (black mirror glaze) dripping from the turrets and it gives you an excuse for a moat with alligators

I am sooo glad you froze the cakes before removing the frosting, almost everyone else I've seen attempt this challenge has done it with the frosting soft, and I was screaming: "why don't you freeze it, it'll be easier!!!!"

Put some drawer liner under the cake board it keeps it from moving as you ice the cake. Another option is a very damp paper towel. I was a cake decorator for a while and this came in handy on the smaller cakes.

Publix cake is delicious. Even better when thawed. And the cake is that Bc once it is iced, it becomes the correct size that the packaging says. Our 8” cakes become 8” after its is fully iced.

Yeah I'm not sure why its a trend. Its basically just buy a cake and decorate it. I just love the decorations!. The flowers were such a nice touch and the painted on purples looked nice.

This is for cake emergencies. If you bake a cake you need at least a few hours to bake and fully cool enough to decorate. Sometimes you need a cake very quickly. Maybe something happened to your original cake and you need a quick backup that doesn't look like it came straight out of a grocery store. That's what this is for.
