A fish with the first cast! Can't beat that. We don't have those in the United Kingdom we have disgruntled tench though lol. A stunning little lure very impressive. Take care my friend.

Nice! You should do one with a big bobber for like musky or something. Awesome to see your ideas and creativity. Amazing work as always!

Older video but I just started following you a few weeks ago. Nice Job! Your ingenuity and creativity are incredible. I've never thought of turning a bobber into a bait. I'm surprised that the glue didn't just melt the Styrofoam. I've never caught a gar. Pretty positive we have them in MD but not the areas I fish. I guess they are almost unequivocally considered trash fish, but bigger ones, say 30 inches plus must fight good right? Then there're giant Alligator gars. Whole different animal. Anyway, a strong toothy fish sounds fun. I guess if I did get into them and bit off or got lures destroyed all the time, I'd hate them too.

I actually love gar. Prob one of my favorite fish. Not to eat but just in general. They are basically dinosaurs. And yeah I’m surprised the glue didn’t melt it either.

Shouldn't have assumed EVERYONE hates gar. My bad. The dinosaur factor is cool too. Species that have been around as long as gar are doing something right.

Your good man most people do consider them trash fish. They are literally everywhere around where I live.

Excellent. I was sceptical about the foam tearing up and inox frame bending. Can you show us what your lure looks like after a few gars tasted it ???!!😜👌

I’ll have to get a picture but surprisingly not too bad. A few scratches in the clear coat but that’s about it.

Using a bobber with a harder foam would probably be better in the long term. Thanks for sharing your skills and ideas, mate !!!! Watching you from New Caledonia, a French island between Australia and Vanuatu....

Cut about 1 inch off the tail. You'll hook up more fish. With top water frogs, I cut about 1 inch off the legs and get more fish to hand. Shortening makes them attack the main body, where hooks are. Worth a shot. Just got turned on to you're channel. Great job on all your lures. Love it....

That’s a good point about narrowing the strike zone.

How about a walking bait out of the skinny float

I have a question about the durability. With the bill/lop being mounted in such a brittle material, how does it hold up? I understand that you have probably mastered the art of good epoxy...bit even then, how does it hold up to the pressure? Just wondering. (great work as always).
@TreysArt
@TreysArt Жыл бұрын
I haven’t stress tested but the epoxy really makes it solid. This is also why I went with a thru wire, much more robust and even if I fish ends up tearing up the bait I’ll have a better chance of landing it. You’d be surprised how tough you can make a soft material by adding superglue and epoxy.
@cerebraltackle
@cerebraltackle Жыл бұрын
@@TreysArt you're absolutely correct about the epoxy. I'm a rod building/repair guy...the right epoxy is key! Great idea and beautiful work!
