Jeff, you are true inspiration, I build this shed (without door, windows and paint) in 5 days without prior expierence - sure I spent 1 month watching over and over your video + planing, it took some time to convert all dim to metric system - not all went well ( I made my shed with 5x10 cm studs thinking 2 by 4 is literally 2 by 4 :) find out that it isn't ) . I build my shed 3x3m so I had to make few changes. Thank you for all the tips and tricks -I felt like a PRO building it :) . I was watching this so many times that one evening my wife and kidz said : Oh no, not Jeff again :) - not once I was bored wathing it :) . Greetings from Slovakia

I built an 8'3 1/2" square shed with the sloped roof, following the videos. It's on a crushed rock base with 4x6 framing and 2x6" floor joists. I also put 1/4" hardware cloth around the lower 3 ft. to discourage critters, as well as hardware cloth around the base to prevent burrowing. After lifting the first wall with the sheathing on, we switched to putting up the walls and then sheathing them (to reduce the weight of what we needed to lift). I did not add windows, but have a vent; I built two doors instead of a single pre-hung door, and omitted the mower door in the back. If I were to do it differently, I would make the walls 7'8 1/2" so the assembled shed was 8' to match the sheathing dimensions, and I would double check the framing of the base for square before dumping 1 1/2 tons of crushed rock inside it and positioning the walls. All in all, your instructions allowed a petite 60+ woman to build a shed.

It's true! Old guys do wear dad shoes. Old ladies buy them for their old guys - because men who wear dad shoes are usually too busy to buy their own shoes. One of the best things about being old is that nobody really cares what shoes you wear. It's a blessing in disguise because at some point your feet hurt too much to care about fashion. :)

Many unique challenges posed by the subtropical "rainforest" climate, considering both day-to-day oppressive heat & humidity as well as the inevitability of tropical storms & hurricanes. Your explanations for why certain aspects of your design are required makes for a universal how-to with the only blanks being the nature of mitigating the impact of these regional variables . Hi Jeff, your cement mixer does have a lock on the side where the handle is, if you put the drum at the level you want it, just push the handle towards the drum and a little spike will lock into the circle and stop the drum from moving left to right. You might have to move it a bit so the spike lines up with the circle but you will soon get the hang of it and it saves you hanging onto the handle in cast it tips the lot out onto the ground

Every video I watch of yours, I learn something new. I feel like you’re my dad-coach helping me thru my DIY projects. Keep it up!!

Would you - or have you - consider doing a very very basic set of DIY videos. Like here’s some construction math for beginners, here’s what your tools are and how to use them, here’s how to some of the principles that apply across projects. Really really basic stuff. I can swing a hammer and get thru the main homeowner stuff, but building things take some essential know how that I don’t think I have… yet.

Nice building, I and my family built our shop 24’x36’ , my 3 boys, all in grade school and junior high, put up the walls with wife and 2 daughters helping lift the walls up , my sons and I covered the walls in 4 hours, 1 walk in door and 1 16x10 garage door, I did all the trusses by myself, I averaged 7 minutes a trus, I put up trus with a 2x4 to level, used a rope to pull up truss upright had 2x2 stopper wood, I figured it was not bad, 10’6” side walls as I had to stay under 14’ due to city code, a framing nailer was my best friend, galvanized ring shank,

Thank you so much for this video! I ended up building a 10ftx14ft shed (with a lawnmower door of course) with my wife and it came out amazing! We had no experience building anything prior to this shed so we thank you so much for making such an easy to follow, step by step video. Your charisma and DIY spirit has inspired us to keep on working on our own house projects when we're able to.

I just binge watched almost 4 hours to the point where I was sitting on the floor next to the wall outlet so I could charge my phone while watching. This channel is Netflix for men.

I have learned lots of new skills!!! From picking locks (i just looove knowing that those great big padlocks i see here and there are ONLY there to keep out the honest people!!! For real IF I ever decided to go rogue and become a master criminal, I COULD EASILY support my new hobby by letting the owner of that Connex behind whatever business I'm getting my revenge on at that moment donate stuff to my cause by using that giant MASTER LOCK that will dutifully pop right open the moment I insert my "MASTER KEY" and wiggle it around just a little bit, and let me have whatever valuables it was happily guarding UNTIL I came along!!!! Deadbolts?? Even the HIGH SECURITY rather expensive deadbolts like my mom bought don't last much longer than those master locks!!! Boy was she mad when I proceeded to pop EVERY SINGLE ENTRYWAY LOCK ON HER WHOLE HOUSE in UNDER 30 seconds each lock and deadbolt!!! Hearing her grumbling about "high security my ass" was just TOO FUNNY!!!!) To basic carpentry, keeping my 380,000 mile Park Avenue running, basic electrical installation and theory, radio wave propagation, Tig welding, metal fabrication..... literally ANYTHING I might need to know on a daily basis I can usually find multiple videos here on KZbin!!! Who needs school in this day and age?? I don't need to be a MASTER at ANY skill...... not when I can learn just enough to get by and complete whatever project i have going at the moment!!!! Someday, i WILL use KZbin to teach me what all i NEED to know to build my own airplane in my garage!!!! That's really my only incomplete hobby...... flying is EXPENSIVE!!! Well IF one must pay to RENT a plane every time one wishes to go flying!!! And even buying a used old timed out plane is out of reach at the moment....... but using all my mechanical skills to BUILD MY OWN....... well now THAT i may just be able to pull off!!! Build one piece at a time...... get creative for the hard to find or afford bits, yeah..... SOMEDAY I'LL DO IT!!! Maybe even start my own channel and show the world how YES YOU TOO CAN BUILD YOUR OWN PLANE!!! IF I CAN DO IT BY GOD ANYBODY CAN DO IT!!!! Thanks KZbin!!!
@tvoovm72543 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but that depends on the quality of the KZbin channels. If it isn't good, it's a terrible KZbin channel.
@TheCorezero003 жыл бұрын
@@tvoovm7254 true indeed...... but i try to avoid the obviously fake or stupid channels......i can usually tell within the first 30 seconds if the guy making the video knows anything about whatever the video is supposed to be about or not and either like and save the video or skip it and move along!!!!
