I've made custom shoes for famous creators like Mr. Beast and Kai Cenat, but today I'm doing something a little different for someone truly special. I'm making a custom chess set complete with board and pieces for my grandpa!

In the future! For the gaps, fill them in with wood glue and then sprinkle saw dust from your sanding over top of it. It’ll give you the same color as the wood and looks less messy

i literally just started woodworking school like 3 weeks ago and this exact idea has been in my head for a while, making a chess board out of an actual log slice. When chessmakers make wooden pieces, they use a rectangle of tool steel with the profile of the piece cut out of it instead of a chisel, that's how they make lots of identical pieces quickly
