I bought a propane powered 6.0 l96 from b&r for under $900 , it came from a shwans delivery truck.....I rebuilt it with 64cc ls3 heads and ls2 flattops to wake up the compression for an asa cam......it's a different animal now, I built a 5.3 with the same 64cc flat top asa recipe and it was a hoot that was the main inspiration for the l96 build, did the same recipe with a .030 over lq9 for my nova as well but the wife didn't like the smelly cam when the car was running in the garage so I went to a 220/230 -.558/.558-117+4 lsa cam to shut her up ....only with intentions of adding a lsa supercharger with a 2.45" pulley less than 6 month later.....thing honestly feels more torquey than my actual cts-v which gave me the supercharged idea....now I just need to pick up 2 rollers for the fresh built l96 and 5.3 sitting on stands in my garage. Problem is I already own 5 vehicles. ....lol. decisions decisions decisions. .....a ls powered xj6 would be cool

This recycled Hemi would be an awesome swap for an old school Mopar like a Hemi Cuda or a 69 Charger or heck it would a really great swap an Old Plymouth Duster.

Not sure how old this episode is but a 2010 and up would be a better build. They have the factory Eagle heads that doesn't drop valve seats. Just get rid of the MDS solenoids and put aftermarket lifters in it. The newer heads gave it 45 more hp from the factory.

No cleaning of the intake/ exhaust runners in the heads after the ultrasonic bath? Debris and grime might have settled in there, and that would ruin a valve seat quickly.

What about the design flaw of the 5.7 Hemi block where the angle of the valve lifters are positioned too flat and the roller camshaft does not get enough oil during prolonged periods of idling. The result is a flat camshaft

Build a real Hemi,426ci,with all the new technology....roller cam,roller rockers, fuel injection, etc... The og is a legend for a reason.

I just torque head studs to 105 ft lbs and call it a day. I try hard to break these hemis with spray. No issues.

Eliminating the belt driven fan/water pump for the electric water pump will give you @ 30 hp gain.

"Beast"? Really? All they did was overhaul a stock engine and put a new intake on it. They didn't even change the cam.
