TURNING A SMALL CLOSET INTO AN ARCHED BUILT IN SHELF

I'm so thrilled to finally be able to share the office shelf glow up with you! Special thanks to Color Atelier for sending over their new lime wash color SANTOS.

While it is quite beautiful, the contrast isn't dramatic enough. It seems very light, so the "old, worn down" look doesn't show ( like the clip of the sample you showed ). Love it!

That floral arrangement is STUNNING! The cherry on top. That checkered vessel is such a nice pop of pattern, I remember you talking about it in another video. If I may make a request though, don't make that your only shooting background. As gorgeous as it is, I like seeing you in different parts of your home because it lets us feel like we're friends, we are guests in your home just having a chat. It's personal. You aren't like other KZbinrs. You aren't a persona, you are real and it's your real home not staged like theirs. I love the floral arrangement...that subtle pop of color was needed and really works. Love the archway shelves. Wish this styling was displayed years ago before we put in full wood built in shelves and desk. Would have saved us lots of money, worked for all our books and things and looks so chic. Great job...

The floral is chef's kiss! The following is my POV and take from it nothing or whatever sparks interest. I think arranging items so your eyes move left to right will be better. So if one shelf has a vase sitting on books, don't do the same immediately under it on the shelf below. Do it on the right side of the shelf below. Alternate height of different items on the shelves and add some depth. Add items other than vases. Pictures, sculptures, animal figures, a clock, small greenery, baskets. On the second to the bottom shelf the vase (or is it a candle holder on the left side), looks kind of unfinished without whatever is supposed to sit inside it. The picture on the wall behind you, is too small for the wall, but perfectly in scale for the second to top shelf! It will give you some depth up there as well. Styling shelves is incredibly difficult, I have found. I think every shelf here needs at least one fairly large piece, especially to replace the open book which is too flat and lacks the height needed for that space. I feel that everything looks too spread out, as if they were lined up instead of interwoven. After numerous iterations, I finally completed the decor for two shelves in the bathroom and now every time I walk in and see it, I smile. Yes, it sparks joy! Yet, if I had seen a picture of it earlier, I would have ignored it. My aim was for pieces that were spread out a bit, and very neutral. What I ended up with was lots of depth, lots of florals and greenery, alternate heights, varied items, varied textures, and a bit more color than anticipated. Even though I live here, I still want to walk over to it and look! It's interesting! What is that peeking out from those greens? Oh, it's a terracotta candle! And so on. I say keep changing it until you are happy to just stand there and look at it. More IS more, I am finding out. It's so much more interesting and if you like decor, what a wonderful reason to keep buying MORE!!! ;)
