I really like the repurpose idea of this new series, honestly I've been tired of so many "old book recycled ideas" which just turn out to be some awkward decorations and throw away after displayed for a while. looking forward to episode 3 or a compilation episode in future :)

I totally agree that it’s best to have the join in the wire inside the back cover!! Here’s an alternative option for the binding to maybe make it more secure…. If you flip the whole block when you bind it (put pages on first and the covers last) the pages will be “trapped” in the larger ends of the loops, so that none of the individual pages can fall out of the gap in the join. This can sometimes mean that the back cover could fall off, but as your back cover is so thick that’s unlikely. Hopefully that makes sense!! Maybe you’ve already tried it that way and didn’t like it, so no worries. Ps. Kona is so adorable!!

This turned out super cute! I do wish binding supplies were cheaper lol. My favorite office tool was the comb binder to bind new sales team training guides. Binding day was my absolute favorite. 😂 I loved that job for a lot of reasons but getting to indulge myself with the binding machine was one of them! I look forward to your review on the Cinch. I’ve been eyeing them for a while but not sure I want to spend the bucks.

Wonderful video and creation of a lil sketchbook! I have a similar binding machine, mine was purchased for creating calendars. The “arm” used for punching through the papers is much bigger and the area of holes longer like an eleven inch sized sheet. My wife and I made calendars for Christmas gifts for our families one year and the printing and binding costs were let’s just say VERY STEEP! I purchased the machine, rings, clear plastic covers and backing boards for 1/4 the cost of one printing! We made calendars for 10 years with these supplies and still had some left when we passed the job onto younger members of the family who wanted to take over but wanted to change the format. I did make a watercolor painting pad with my machine and it took some muscle to punch through the backing board, the longer handle did help, but I was worried about breaking it! Or the keys used for punching or cutting through the surfaces. I only did one but I think if I ever try making another watercolor book I would use your screw punch tool to get the holes started! I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your expertise and joy in binding!

Nice tutorial! I bought a full size Cinch on clearance last year. I've been enjoying making my own watercolor notepads recently. Don’t know if you noticed, but their wires are an off size, not the most readily available on Amazon. I had to really pay attention to the holes per inch when restocking with other brands. Still, I'm loving this binding tool and looking for more projects to make. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with.

Beautiful work as always, absolutely love the result ♥ You've been inspiring me to making notebooks and sketchbooks for a few years now for both myself and as gifts. I use and shape normal wire you find at a hardware store and do every single hole on the pages and covers by hand because I'm that crazy haha, but now seriously those machines were way too pricey when I first searched for them and couldn't even afford the cheapest one. Gonna give it another look since that one is the perfect size for me, might get lucky.
