Wow, like others when you started chopping your work up I was saying wtf no. Then as I watched what you did, I had tears in my eyes…my Dad passed 30 years ago, he worked in a woollen mill and depending on where he was needed, he either was a carder or a spinner. It brought back so many more oriels and I could even smell the wool while you were working! Thank you so much for sharing and for unknowingly bringing memories of my Dad to me that I had not thought of in a very long time!! 🥹🥰🫶 And the yarn you produced, WOW, it was beautiful and as you were working it, it reminded me of sari material. when I first started Crocheting, I used to get so angry at the prices of handmade spun and dyed yarns. Talking about how ridiculous it was. THEN, I got to watch a lady, that I needed the yarn she was selling, make the yarn. Holy wow. It is a lot of work, especially if you have to sheer the sheep and such as well. So, when I was 22, is when I learned the value of handmade and factory processed.

I love the process, because there are many potential options when recycling yarn. Not that this isn't lovely yarn, but I was a bit disappointed with the use of grey fiber as the main color, because it is such an overused default option. I would love to have seen something a little less expected, colors such as a creamy tan, ecru, on the safer side, or a pastel that would brighten the overall effect, for a more daring option, because grey just tends to read as dull and dirty, as it tends to mute the colored fibers a bit too much, compared to other options, in my humble opinion. Would be so fun to try this, myself! Beautiful work, and video!
@scrap_spunАй бұрын
Thank you! But I’m a little confused: the base wool I used was purple, not grey? 🙏 but I agree that a grey base can make a scrap batch look like dryer lint 😂❤️
@ThundermansThunderАй бұрын
@scrap_spun Okay, I can see the purple, now that I look again knowing that it is there. Maybe it is just my eyes, but it just reads more as grey than purple to me on video.
