That nightstand looks like it was designed to look like an old washstand - a bit odd. Good idea on the wooden stops for the marble top - I have three marble top tables, and one has a giant chip from falling off because they have zero anchors. ❤

The small cabinet is a wash stand. There would've been a large decorative ceramic bowl and matching water pitcher placed on it for washing one's face and hands.

Possibly, but I didn't necessarily want to make it permanent. Now with the little blocks, it's a perfect fit.

Oh not gray.. neutral wood would be amazing... I dislike orange too, but solid gray ... a gel stain maybe?. This was a great piece sanded.. 5:42 I do like you channel.

its not a nightstand its a washstand there used for a bowl and pitcher they were used in the 17 and 1800's for washing up before going to bed
