Glyn, another good tutorial. I am really finding a lot of power in using smart objects. Most if not every project, I finish and think, it couldn't get better, then the next day or two I take another look with fresh eyes and see many short comings: too dark, too blue, too sharp, missed something critical, etc.. With smart object, it is easy to open the filters and adjustment, refine and save again. Adobe continues to help us up our game.

Hi Glyn, I love this technique and I created a few images using it. They look fine when I'm looking at them on the PC from their files or in LR. But, when I upload them and look at them online, they get much darker, to the point of not being able to see them well, and the colors, esp the yellow, gets much deeper and posturize and become a mess. Any idea what to do about that?
@glyndewis
@glyndewis 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven. Before uploading the images take a look at them in sRGB and see what they look like. It might be just the different colour space or even browser having an affect on how they look.
@StevenBrener
@StevenBrener 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for responding Glyn. I thought by exporting them as sRGB jpgs, I had done that. The jpgs seem to be OK when I review them on the PC, but online it's a different story. Tones that darkened far too much and odd, posturized, over saturated yellows. Just seems to happen to ones where the tones are overwhelmingly dark, like the Day to Night ones.
@glyndewis
@glyndewis 7 жыл бұрын
Steven Brener Which browser are you looking at them in?
@StevenBrener
@StevenBrener 7 жыл бұрын
Using Chrome. But....I just went to Microsoft Edge, and they look much better and closer to what they look like in LR....what a surprise! Here's 4 examples (a few of which I used the Day to Night approach with). I put them on Google Photos first just to see how they render online (before I'd put them on 500px or other sites for sharing). They're a mess here when viewed in Chrome and look different than they do in LR or as jpegs in a photo viewer. goo.gl/photos/5dWoMEqw8VXv8FKg7 goo.gl/photos/q56vY5uDjuk5xpNp6 goo.gl/photos/sWL6Q4c3q3JVjMLZ7 goo.gl/photos/ySvSnnrBfE7Dgbq88 Most of the ones with very dark tones suffer the same fate! Wondering why they look so messed up in Chrome and so much closer to what I saw when I use MS Edge. Thanks again...

Yeah only in CC but you can still do this technique. Just create 2 copies of the original file and save them. Then open each in RAW and do the changes to each that I made in the video. You can then drag them into the same file and do the rest. Hope that makes sense.
