Looks like you are sanding in forward. Most turners I watch sand in reverse. Throws dust back towards the dust collection. Just an observation. Thanks for the new idea. With all the grape vines I trim in my yard I never thought to do this 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I sand in both directions on bowls, and in forward on spindles, then I stop and go with the grain between grits. I will see if the dust collector does better for me in reverse on spindle work next time I am running bottle toppers! Thanks for the input and the tip!
