In my experience being friends prolongs the healing and growth process. Let go no contact forever. The next gal will be a lot better. Compatibility is #1. Compromise is death.

I think it depends on how one handles being friends. We took a bit of space initially and are now friends, which makes me very happy.

I love this. You have a very positive outlook. Heartbreak certainly gives lots of fuel for creativity. I think it's very mature that you stayed friends with your ex and can still love them despite the change. I'm going through a recent breakup myself, and I wish my ex was able to see it that way..
