Turning My Home Office into My Dream Workspace!!!

Everyone has their own sense of style and in the six years I’ve lived here when this office was an actual office…I have NEVER used it. Instead of conforming to what a traditional office is, I started to think about what really would work for me, what I need out of my office and what would make my life easier so that means I moved the office into Paul's office and made my dream lounge/workspace! This is what I came up with and I am totally in love.

I love how the gold bowl matches the new gold wire pendant light. I also love the skate wheels in the bowl as a nod to the husband. - - That little puppy girl Kelly and her widdle wide bulldog paws. So cute! That face and those folds!! Luvs!!! I have to keep reminding myself "I am here for the decor. I am here for the decor." - - This office space is epic! Who sez an office has to have a boring desk and a traditional chair? Who doesn't like sitting on a couch,spread out and all comfy? I likes it! The color. The vibe.And that modular couch. . .it is perfect for that space. The first time I saw a modular couch was on Three Birds Renovations. The thumbnail alone is makes you question if it's possible to break into a house to just move in. Not to rob it, but live there. lol

Yes! I haven't updated you guys but re are completely redoing the exterior of our home including the pool so our budget is there at the moment. I can't wait to share all the outdoor content! Then once that is complete, I think I can tackle floors by the end of the year!

Always try steaming first! Most modern wallpaper will come right off in strips and it's very satisfying. If you have older or newsprint paper where the glue and paper were separate, then you'll need scoring and wet it with spray bottle then scrap off with scraper. Depending on your walls, you can just use water.

I LOVE THIS. I’ve been here for every one of Your Office makeover phases and this is my favorite. Being an interior designer I notice people tend to design how they think a room should be used and not how THEY actually use it or what they need it to function for them so I love seeing tools like this that are completely different and actually designed to fit whatever YOUR function for it is. I would make a couch table behind the couch. You can make it free standing or attach to the the wall. Basically a table/shelf the goes along the back of the couch. You can store the tech stuff underneath and it'll breath just as well. And you can still holes in the top and put plugs along the top of the shelf for your computer and stuff. And it just looks nice. Just an idea.

something I’ve always wanted to do is get one of those floating foldable dinning tables (they sell them at ikea) and just install it over a couch because I suck so much at working at a desk so that’s like a floating desk, and just fold it out over the arm of the chair when I want to work on my laptop and when I want to just be on my couch fold it back down. could also be used to eat at the couch too lol

A suggestion to fix your book cover , maybe colored pencil would work. Dickblick.com has a 12 ct set of cool and warm greys for under $10. You could test the colors on a paper first and then test on the back inside cover. There is usually a little bit of the cover material inside. That might be the soft texture you need to match the cover. And I love the room!

Just a tiny suggestion. For the book cover that got damaged try painting or adding a metallic gold tape to create a line from top to bottom. You won't see the imperfection and the book would get a lil facelift 😊

Interior decorator here. Can confirm, "Wallpaper is a _messy, time consuming job._ _However,_ a super fast way I have found (in my 20 years exp.) is as such: 1) Drop a thick tarp on the floor... 2) Grab a bucket of HOT dish soapy water & some clean OLD facecloths... 3) SOAK a portion of the wall. I'm talking WET the entire portion completely 2'X2' square, if you think it's too much, it's not. It's why you have a tarp down to protect your floors... 4) Allow it to soak about 5 minutes... 5) Soak same section again... 6) Soak _next_ section to be worked on... 7) Get to scraping your wetted spot. Get at it, use a little elbow grease... 8) Take breaks often... 9) Do not _throw_ the scraper _into_ the wall! (no matter how good you'll feel about it at the time.) Once you do that, you may as well tear down the drywall & put up new stuff. Which is _always_ an option for those with money to do so. It's messy too. You're not saving yourself any mess. I've found this works best with prepasted wallpapers. This trick _won't_ work with years of layers of wallpapers (it _might_ help get through _some_ layers though) Also, it doesn't work on anaglyptic wallpapers aka. paintable wallpapers. Hope these tips help you or anybody in all future wallpaper destruction processes. Please no swearing at me for _not_ posting _this_ sooner 😂😂 Best of luck.
