Oh Christ all mighty, the 50 shades of grey inspo for Crime and Punishment is killing me. So glad I subbed. May I recommend children's books redesigned as crime covers? Give me that bleak sepia background and huge ass font for Winnie the Pooh (oh bother!)

One idea: horror into romantic book covers. Um, can that be then called gaslighting? Probably, but a slasher with über romantic cover - such a tease. Like something of Stephen King's or... or... Bram Stoker's Dracula... or... Yes, I don't read or watch horror at all, so that's why I don't know the writers and books and that's why it is hilarious to me; I'm more into murder mysteries and other things than horror. Still, a suggestion.

also of mice and men still conjures up an unhealthy amount of anger in me bc we had to do a presentation on it in english class and the guy i was doing the presentation with was like 'i'm not good at english, i'll read it in german' and i was like 'um ok i guess i can't stop you from doing that', and then the day before the presentation he finally sent me his pres notes and ASKED ME TO TRANSLATE THEM bc he had written them in german.... dude that was the point of us having to read the book in english 😭

We did Silas Marner, which is the tale of a bargain bin Scrooge getting rehabilitated into society by a sickly-sweet orphan with golden curly hair. I feel so left out when everyone talks about Lord of the Flies or Of Mice and Men 😢

Vid idea: Ask for people to submit pics of their fav book covers (on Twitter, IG, etc...) and why it's their fav. Generate a genre to base the cover off of and then combine the concepts together to create the "best book cover".

Genre bending idea: horror/thriller books if they had the cover of a cozy mystery. I feel like the cozy mystery style of cover is very well defined and it could be interesting to see more intense novels get the cozy mystery cover treatment
