Turning Scraps into a CUTE Letters you can add to ANYTHING! Can't wait to ear this!

I am still trying my hand at getting my sweatshirt designing just right. I think this may be the way. Just a simple piece of fabric with the design stitched to it and applied to the shirt.
We found the letters on Pinterest, we just searched fabric alphabet letters. They are 4 inch letters. There are lots of free printables out there to choose from and many different fonts.

Hey there, May-may! Enjoyed your video. In my 69 yrs, I've played LOTS of games but yours reminded me of when I was a child, my sister who was 6 yrs older & could do "lettering" drew all kinds of things on our sweatshirts with magic markers! Yeah! Magic Markers! They were really cute as i remember and all the rage! Then....puff paint came out! ...Thanks for all you do!

Great job Maymay! You can use heat n bond lite or steam a seam on the fabric. They are a double side adhesive that you iron onto the wrong side of the fabric, cut the letters out, take the baking off, and iron the letters onto the sweatshirt. Then you stitch around the letters like you did. It holds the letters in place while you sew. They are thin and don’t add bulk. Keep up the great work!

You can do that with batting also…just lay your fabric on it and quilt as u go

Yes, I’ve done it that way before but I’m trying not to add bulk. It doesn’t look as good on the shirt to me. This time I think it worked!

I love this! Hey, I saw a lady at the grocery store and I almost asked her if I could take a picture of her sweatshirt. It had reverse appliqué quilt blocks on it….so cute!

Just a tip you can use the Elmer’s glue stick ,,, it’s washable and it works and is cheaper. Love your letters.

Thank you for the tutorial! What type of fabric did you use for the carrier fabric? I wonder if you could use fusible woven like SF101 with fusible tot the back side. Then you could fuse the letters down once placed before stitching. Also, what brand are your pinking shears? They cut much better than mine!

I used just white cotton. I don’t like the way the fabric feels on the sweatshirt when it has fusible on it. I’ve mentioned that in my previous videos but I forgot to in this one. Thanks for the reminder!

I’ve sewn since I was a teenager. I actually sewed before paper crafting. ❤️
