Turning the C30 into a K30 front axle install (4x4 conversion pt.2)

This is PT.13 of this Gen V Engine Swap and 80s square body crew cab restore video series.
We finally got the front axle mocked up under the truck and got to check out how well the tires lined up within the fenders. Luckily everything worked out as planned.... Almost. The dual shock hoops will have to have some modifications done if they are going to be used on this truck project.

Yeah. It’s easier to find the 2wd crew cabs. Yeah I’m hoping I’ve worked through all the big surprises as far as the 4x4 conversion goes.

@@MikePittsVlogs I’m trying to figure out my steering. I’m using a Dodge Dana 60. It’s going to be tough to figure the out I’m afraid. We’ll see.

Yeah that will be interesting. I’m using the 2wd steering gear and a sky’s off-road design high steer kit with reed racing knuckles.

Normally on the shock towers people put a 2wd gearbox and cross over steering then the shock towers will mount.

I actually am running a 2wd gearbox with a high steer crossover and Reed racing knuckles. I probably just didn’t get the right shock towers. I think they were for a non square body Chevy. Do you know if they sell dual shock towers for the older square body’s?

Did you make your own front leaf hangers. Looks like you made it a crossmember also. What about the rear hamger. What you use? Looks great

I bought the front leaf hanger, shackle, and shackle mount and the rear shackle flip from sky’s off-road design. Bought the rear leaf hanger from A-tech industries on eBay. Thanks man.

What leaf spring did you use? And how much lift? Looks great!

I used the skyjacker 2.5” soft ride front leafs and factory rear leafs and overall it’s 7-8” of lift. Thank you
