My guess is that 2 containers were used to make the ice cube. There is a hand sized depression frozen into the top of the block of ice. The top of the frozen block then becomes the botton, leaving a rim of ice around the edges to hide your hand. You just sit the block of ice onto your hand, the thin section allows you to see the hand through the other side. The ice was only sitting on his hand and wrist, check out the technique used on the flip-to-smash.

That huntsman looks normal, the ones poping up around my mom's house ever so often are all around that size. I saw one the size of a dinner plate when I was 5 visiting my grandparents. I froze when I saw it chilling on the corner of the ceiling, screamed like a kid I am when it dashed down the wall, and got super paranoid the whole stay after it vanished into the bottom of a bookshelf. I didn't know they are harmless(at least these from where I live are) atm, and were moderately arachnophobic, but now they are my favourite spider, I always feel lucky when I see one shows up.
