Dr. Facilier was already kind of a necromancer (playing with death), but he could always multiclass. that aside, Jafar's design has a great black paladin look which would improve this party balance for practical play. even a war-caster focused pali can hold the front like its their whole career. actually who would you pick for paladin for Disney and Dragons? the prince from sleeping beauty? he's got the holy sword. elsa? she's more like a sorcerer. king triton? hes kind of a god. Maleficent? polymorphing is a druid thing, and besides that dragons polymorph anyway. so is maleficent a dragon that polymorphs to human. or human that polymorphs to dragon? the Maleficent movie implies that she is an arch-fey

Yzma could also work as a Warlock if you consider her character in the original story of the movie, back when it was known as “Kingdom of the Sun”, before it got a complete overhaul into the movie we know today. In “Kingdom of the Sun”, Yzma made a pact with Supai, the Incan god of darkness, in exchange for eternal youth. If you want a good idea of what her character was like back then, look up the song “Snuff Out the Light”.

Interesting thing: in Merida we actually see that she is interested (or at least impressed) in one of the big, muscle loaded warriors. Maybe Merida and Gaston competition would eventually turn into some positive relationship? I would totally watch Gaston changes and grows to respect other people.

He might be using a predictive stroke/line smoother when he draws! That makes whatever your drawing a lot less shaky, and for curves, usually rounds lines really well.

I’m playing a ranger in my DnD game, and just want to say: Hunter is not home brew, but an official subclass. It is in the Players Handbook

Technically Disney owns Studio Ghibli... so here are some ideas. Now some of them will be obvious, Kiki is a sorceress, Howl a wizard, but lets touch on my favorite Ghibli, Princess. Mononoke. Because of his mindset, I'd put Ashitaka as an Oath of Ancients paladin. Now Princess Mononoke herself, yes a beastmaster ranger makes sense, as does a cavalier, but I think beast totem barbarian is appropriate. Who else from Ghibli could be awesome?

I made Elsa for Adventures' League once. Draconic bloodline Sorceror, Silver Dragon heritage (because having a Silver Dragon as an ancestor is a good justification for a Royal bloodline). Variant Human, taking the Elemental Adept feat, naming Cold. Noble background. Then loading up on spells that inflict Cold. Maybe having a few backups that deal Force damage in case Cold Immunity is ever encountered.

Depending on your choice of film maleficent could be a true neutral character. As in the original film she’s evil but in the newer one we see a more neutral good side to her. If you make her maybe make her a scourge Aasimar or one of the Fae races as she is a Fairy. Class wise maybe a Sorcerer or wizard. She could also have that crow siting in her shoulder and as she used a polymorph type spell in him maybe a Wizard is the best choice.

Her more evil portrayal would work with the Winter Court of the Fae - as AJ Pickett, a D&D KZbinr, has said, the Faewild is a place that is like a living dream and it's darker side is like nightmares. Even the live action Maleficent could be taken as a dream of revenge.

I saw Ursula and my first reaction was 'warlock!'. And then I paused and thought, 'hang on. She's not the warlock, she's the patron.' I noticed something rather intersting in this video- villains in general seem to have rather long faces, I wonder why that is? I assume it's some sort subconcious signal of evil, but I wonder how or where that association started. I thoroughly enjoyed this! The evil you was a nice twist and the voice editing was fantastic.

It might be a byproduct of how angular villain faces get in western animated features, especially in contrast to the apple-cheeked, soft-featured protagonists of those features. (Compare Dr. Facilier's design to Tiana's, or even Naveen's)

I really do love the creative liberties one can make with parts of the game, like your tweak of Facilier's "spellbook" being a spelldeck instead. My favourite tweak I've done with a character is making a druid's casting focus a tattoo on his arm that glows slightly when he casts and faintly appears on his wild shapes.

"Villains could absolutely be the characters that you play as..." I'm actually in a villain campaign right now. We have a stronghold and we're going to be fighting a group of adventurers in our next session. It's a lot of fun playing as villains because you get a different perspective on the D&D hero-vs-villain situation. Many people think villains are just villains and are only there to cause mischief and misery, but our characters are all as well-rounded as any hero, if not more so. I highly recommend everyone play a villain campaign at least once. Not only for the fun, but because you might look at a group of enemies differently afterword.

Some villain ideas I came up with: -Judge Claude Frollo from Hunchback, as an evil-aligned Cleric -Yzma from Emperor's New Groove, as an evil Artificer, specifically Alchemist -Captian Hook as a Rogue, specifically Swashbuckler -Robert Callaghan AKA Yokai from Big Hero 6, with an enchanted/cursed mask that allows him to control obsidian crystals or black tendrils of darkness in much the same way the original versions' technological mask allows him to control tiny robots. No idea what class he would be, but it sure sounds fun!

@@patrickbuckley7259 That is definitely a point for argument, and I respect your opinion. For me, just because Pocahontas is in tune with nature doesn't justify her druid-ness. With many monks, they are apart of monasteries, or tribes, that worship forms of nature and even animals like Owlbears, for example. So, in that way, monks can be appreciative of nature and worship the nature while still being monks. Hope that makes sense.

@Cierra Anglin So everyone got to pick a character to base themselves off of, we got Elsa the sorcerer, Phillip the Paladin, Aurora the Druid (didn't want to be a bard), Alice the Warlock, Hercules the Fighter, Esmeralda the Rogue, and Mulan the Monk. They are currently in Agrabah, one of the six Kingdom's each one led there for one reason or another and are led to watch the funeral of Sultan Hamed Boblonius II, when suddenly all the nobles, lords and presenters giving ulogy and praise towards the Sultan are taken down by warriors barging out of the Palace, and a dragon roaring in the distance... That is session 1, and everyone had a blast with the first part. This is my first campaign I have ever DMed and it is a lot of fun right now, Disney movies have really helped me lay out and get a grasp of the world being built around them

Nobody wanted to venture out past what they saw their character as, even though all races were on the table for them to choose. Two or three of the players are brand new to the game while the rest have some experience, or have been playing for years. Elsa is a High Elf, Esmeralda and Prince Phillip are both Half-Elf's and the other four are humans, Mulan being a variant since she wanted a feat off the bat, but a human nonetheless. They wanted to stay in their kind of domain for how the characters looked in their movies, and most if not all decided to venture out with their backstories instead of their appearances.

She was raised by Clopin, the leader of a large organization underneath Agrabah called the Cour des Miracles, a safe place for criminals, thieves and outcasts. (Entertainer BG) Elsa is the princess of Arendelle, a Kingdom that accepts and praises those with the potential for magic, being one of the few Kingdom's to hold little to no restrictions on spells. She found herself being tutored by the best spell casters Arendelle after her parents realized she was inherently gifted with magic. One night after a session she accidentally hurt Anna, her younger sister while playing and she ran off, turning the former Palace of Arendelle (now just an abandoned home) into a beautiful center of crystals with suffocating spikes close to her, until the Palace Guard found her and brought her home where she agreed to be sent off to the other side of the world, in Agrabah's school for magic to grow accustomed to her powers where she wouldn't be able to hurt anyone. (Noble BG) Phillip knows he is a Prince, somewhere far off with green fields and crystal blue waves, but he doesn't exactly remember where that place is. At a young age he was kidnapped by a bheur Hag (Haunted One BG), dragging him to the northern most point of the world, twisting his memories to make him forget about his original life to make him believe that he was her child, that he was meant to stay with her forever. One night as the Hag got an unexpected visitor to their tower he escaped, running as far and fast as possible until he ran into a Druid Circle. In the Druidic Circle he met Aurora, a narcoleptic human who was once a bright, shining noble in a large city in Nottingham. Due to shady politics and terrible tactics that she doesn't quite remember, her family was kicked out of their home and she was left on her own; she ended up travelling northward, being close to death from the freezing temperatures of Arendelle until the Druid Circle found her and brought her back from her sickness. In that span of time she started to find it harder to wake up, finding her dreams spinning to another world where she gets visions of a chaotic mess, scenes in shambles and a pasty white man with bright orange hair with a top hat, giving her advice and spinning odd poems. One night she found her deep sleep being woken up by a frantic man, and the two of them have been travelling ever since. (Noble BG) Alice was going to be a Lady for the second largest city in Corona, one of the six Kingdom's but found herself growing bored of the scheduled, boring life being drawn for her. Her older sister was going to get married to some man, meaning she was probably going to be Lady and Alice was going to be married off to a complete stranger so she could accomplish nothing in her life, and decided to run off before that could ever happen. While running she found herself getting lost in a strange world, her mind warping into the fantasies and chaos of this world where hedgehogs where used for croquet balls and flamingos are the mallets, with cats that disappear and coil around you just as a breeze would. It took a year before the cat was eventually convinced to let Alice return to her own world, with the promise of her creating mischief and chaos in her wake. (Noble BG) Mulan was born to a rich family, her father being an important war general for the King of Nottingham, her family living close to the Palace to help deal with any important issues if they needed to be addressed immediately. However, as the years went on her father's illnesses and past battle wounds started to catch up with him, and when his death finally came it led to hardship on the family. They were forced to relocate to a small town close to the border of the crime-ridden Agrabah, the mother having to work odd jobs to make ends-meet and the son doing anything in his power to try and get himself an education to support them, though it did rack up a quick debt. To try and deal with that she went to become a soldier, though her and many other soldiers around started to notice her having more potential than just a fighter with her light footwork and delicate movements, she decided to abandon the army and instant find solitude in a monastery close to family's village, where she could learn and perfect what she seemed to be great at. (Soldier BG) Finally, Hercules. A man who had nothing at birth and seemed to be the scrawniest kid in Olympus; a land that seemed to thrive off of its warriors strength and intelligent minds. He grew up with loving merchant parents who tried to give him everything he wanted, teaching him that even though he was adopted that they still loved him even as their own. The old olive merchants leaned on their son for help when it came to lifting items and going to the market for work. Recently, on the eve of a full moon they met him unexpectedly to tell him the story of how they found him; wrapped up in beautiful ivory blankets with a golden medallion around his neck, the symbol of the ruler of Olympus. In his shock he decided to leave to try and find answers for himself; even if he already knew the truth. He found his strength growing at the sudden truth, to the point where he killed an Ogre that was hurting a rich merchant named Megara, and found himself becoming a Folk Hero. Realizing that Zeus, his supposed father, probably didn't know he was even alive anymore, decided that it would be best to travel the world and make a name for himself before he goes to confront and find the answers he's looking for. (Folk Hero BG) We did have Megara as a PC character, though the person had to drop out before we started. They were going to have a Noble BG and be connected to one of the BBEG's in the campaign
