1:33 for those confused, the point of this setup is to stop flashbacks from happening. Basically, the ignited gas could travel along the tube, and back to the generator (a flashback). This would most likely cause an explosion, as there is a stockpile of flammable gas in the generator. However, if you ignite the stream of gas from the tube that comes from the jar, the flame would travel back through the tube and be blocked by the water, stopping it from reaching the generator. If you increased HHO gas production, it might be wise to create more than one of these failsafes, since a larger stream of gas could create a path through the water for the flame to flashback through.
@No_Way_NO_WAY4 ай бұрын
A fine steel mesh should be sufficient to do the same. (Industrial ones are fittet with multiple layers of mesh) We tested this in chemistry class in school, the flame of a burner would only go to the mesh but the gas above the mesh was still flammable and could be re-ignited.

Your ability to think outside the box always impresses me. This is a very good way of showing the impressive power behind hydroxy gas. If you looking for a generator design with a higher gas output try and make one out of stainless steel condiment cups. I have been able to make my best designs this way and the bonus is the form factor can be very small. I look forward to potentially some more hydroxy content in the future!

Your build and thinking are very on point, my respect. However take in consideration that hydrogen has an ability to leak through tiniest of gaps and even though solid materials if they have sponge structure and their grid is bigger then hydrogen atoms (and they are really small). So yeah, I expect your nade will loose most of it's fuel if left alone for about an hour. So considering it's nerf like power, I'd rather do something powered by spring, will be much more reliable and easier to reload. But as a demonstration setup for using hydrogen it's pretty cool

Important to note that you can't store hydrogen gas for long periods of time in pretty much anything, because it can and will escape. It's VERY loud and you should not try to lit the hose that's going into generator like shown in the video, because it can end up in a rather violent explosion (even with water "filter" we see in the video, it's still not advised). If you want to learn more about gas shown in the video, check out Alex Burkan - he has done research on it for years (over a decade at this point) and it's all well documented. Also, he has some guides on how to make those generators SAFELY. What you see here is a very basic generator.
