Wow, what a creative use of the leather punches and the leather stitching tool and the hex driver for texturing! I've never thought of using those things for texture. Super cool!

That came out very nice. Great use of tools around the shop and that guilt cream finish came out fantastic.

This has got to be one of my favorite pieces...I love it! I have a set of Nick Agar punches and the gilt cream...I just might try to make a copy of your work.

That turned out really cool. The different tools you used to do the embellishments besides the spiraling tools was a really great idea and that Chromacraft gilt cream really makes the piece. It struck me in the views just prior to you painting the piece black that something like this shape and with that kind of embellishment would make an interesting small drum -- don't know what led me to that thought process, it just struck me seeing it.

Nice shape and interesting metal effect, Sam. For end grain vessels do you ever use the old cup type hollowing tool? It's very fast, but needs patience in sharpening. I might revisit mine soon. Bernard.

Where is the part where the pot turned black on the outside? Need all the steps.

Looks like it's just painted. I'd assume you could use any black paint you like, then once it's dry you can use a gilt cream as he has done. I'd never considered painting before embellishing with gilt cream, but I've used Rub-N-Buff before to great effect. I love using antique gold worked in between beads and into textures then sanded over top to make things pop.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I took this piece out behind my shop and used a rattle can to paint it black I did not film it and forgot to mention how it got to be black. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Sam. 😮

The section starting around 30 minutes: I make enough mistakes on my own that I don't need to add guilt cream to my problems. I didn't even know that you could get guilt in cream form.
