Good to hear the Ten Second Studio is still alive as I am running out of my paint supply as well. Nice Oregon Woodturning Symposium shirt there Sam! The OWS is coming up again March 2025 - good slate of demonstrators and two lathes to raffle off. Thanks for coming to our Symposium in 2019, it was fun and good to meet you and Cheryl. Take Care.

Yes, the Oregon Woodturning Symposiumo is every other year. Thanks for reminding me about the one in 2025. My wife and I have thought about just making that a vacation trip. It is such a great Symposium. Thanks again Sam.

I love using the MRPs. Always turns an uninteresting piece into something better.

I've done a few pieces with metal reactive paint and it's great fun to see how it reacts. This hollow form has turned out really well, much better than some of mine. I've not had much success with the rust effect and I can't seem to find the brass paint here in UK.

Thanks for sharing the Verday source. My original Verday paints were drying up. I was surprised when the company just seemed to disappear. Which of the metalic finishes do you have the best results with and like the best.

Very nice. Did you do a light sanding after the spray solution?

Nice project Sam! Do you coat the reactive paint with anything after it dries? Thank you for sharing.

Very well done Sam. Did you do anything to halt drying out when you had to leave the bowl overnight?🙂🙂

Great hollow form! About how fast are you turning Sam?
@WYOMINGWOODTURNER12 күн бұрын
600. To 800 rpm

@@WYOMINGWOODTURNER Might be why my catches are so dramatic then, I turn at 1400 for 4-6" wide hollow forms and I had a couple blow up during hollowing.

I have a Killinger machine, which is a wood lathe, would you be able to do things like this with it? The model is Killinger KM 6000 S-Hydro. My father left it to me as an inheritance. It has not been used for a long time, but I would like to do some things besides work and privately. Can this machine work? perform this kind of thing, I would like you to answer me, since I don't really have experience in this, but I have a machine, thank you in advance 😊

Wow…. I did a little research on this and there really is lots of information about this Lathe. It appears to be a rather expensive machine as well. One thing you might do is find an experience, Woodturner in your area to help you figure it out. Sometimes these specialty delays are difficult to operate and maybe more complicated than a normal would Lathe . It doesn’t appear that the swing over the spindle is very big. Meaning you couldn’t really turn very large bowls with it. One option might be to try to sell it and buy a more conventional wood lathe but I think it’s worth investigating and figuring out I think it’s very cool Sam
