My turntable doesn't want to cooperate. I mean the fader. I mean the operator.

The Technics SH EX1200 is still a good scratch mixer today and you might be able to pick one up cheap if you look around. I found mine on Ebay and have been using it for years without needing to replace the crossfader. There's so many new mixers being produced these days and choosing one is always a personal preference so it's best to try them out if you can at DJ stores before you buy...

Actually bro, I'm not scratching hamster style. I'm just starting the scratch with the crossfader open which is the case for all flare techniques

Im so happy; i just finally nailed a 2 click orbit with my LEFT hand cutting the fader. Last year, i couldnt even cut a baby scratch with my left hand on the Xfader, but now i usually lead my hiphop sets on my right deck instead of the left deck. Seems like a lot of scratch DJs only stick to one side and cant really scratch well on both sides. You just gotta step outside of your comfort zone and stick with it and get your weak hand strong as well.

Yo Angelo, youre the best man! Your tuts are by far the most precisely and detailed explained Turntabelizm learning recource! I turned the tables years before YT and never really got the chance to learn that great art without the must to go to the jams! Now cause guys like you I can! Thanks a lot

big true, i ve started to cut with the left on the crossfader just few months ago - after 6 years of scratching only on one side and i can tell this is the best way to push the level and become more universal tablist (because of hand and fader control). Nice thing (little schizofrenic) is that you can make "battle" between your left and right hand side :D

The fact that you can demonstrate the scratch slow and fast without messing up shows you really got that shit down. I'll be honest, I can only do some scratches fast and other only slow. I need to break it all down!

Awesome series of videos, Angelo. You've been a great help and an inspiration. I borrowed some numark mixtrack controllers about a month ago and have been putting in a couple of hours or more a day. This evening I sussed the two click flare. Strangely enough, I've held back trying to even try it, since I've been working on building speed and consistency with the one click flare (which is hard!). Then, suddenly, I can do the two click easily and at slow and fast tempos. Can anyone answer this question: I'm typically right handed and naturally first played around with vinyl turntables instinctively using my right on the record. But for a month now I've mainly focused on using my left on the jog wheel and weird as it felt at first, the control has come progressively...but which side should I be biased?

Its intresting when he speeds up that hand movement is diffrent that most djs. Not so much of a pinching movement . But move of a rocking of the hand. Been doing 2 click orbits for about one year now. Only just starting to feel natural. One of the best all round DJs turntableist in the world! No idea how long he has been practicing this amazing art form.

Is it strange that I find the 2 click easier than the 1 click? I’m not sure why but the 1 click just feels awkward to me while the 2 click just feels more “natural” for some reason!

Hi everyone, i'm going to buy a set of tunrtabels, and i want to know where i can get those awesome records. I'm from france, that's why i'm in search of a record seller somewhere else (hiphop tracks aren't that popular in here), who can get me this kind of records.

@ivanppa1 You only need 1 table to scratch. As you can see, Angelo is only using 1 table The other table is really there for the music, unless you wanna start mixing and juggling. If you buy 1 turntable and have an existing cd player or mp3 playing to suppl y the music, then you should be fine

@DJAngeloUK ive seen many scratch tutorials online... and they were either to short or too confusing. for example, qbert's diy 1 dvd. he explains the scratch in 10 seconds, and shows the scratch hamster style as if that isnt confusing already. this by far, is the most comprehensive.

Ive been stuck on trying to do this 2 click flare for almost 2 months and not getting anywhere / losing to love. Watched this tutorial again and realised how your stab / chirps just before you started demonstrating over the beat were so tight, that Im not ready for this shit yet! I went back to my tables and practiced chirp, stab and baby combos and feeling inspired again.!

Hey there Angelo. Big fan. Love your videos. They have been very informative in fact i have basically picked up all basic scratch skills thanks to you. I have a question about the 2 click orbit. It's hard for me to tell in this video but it looks to me like you are you using a single finger for this movement. Would it not about easier to use 2 fingers and use them like a crab movement?? Thanks!

Hola folks! A quick question on 2 click flares....I cannot for the life of me execute them well..the stab between clicking sound off and opening fader never comes out right ..I can do 3 click flares/open crabs OK but just can't get the 2 click right. Anyone encounter similar problems while learning and/or got any tips?! Someone told me that learning transformers before flares might be the prob...Thanks!!

Hey DJ Angelo.. I have a question.. I've watched this series of videos, and they're perfect for learning to scratch.. Im learning beat juggling at the moment, and want to put the 2 together. In the first video, u mentioned that a good mixer to use is the technics one ure using. I'm thinking of buying a mixer as i'm currently using the pioneeer DJM-600, and this is usless for scratching. Anything u would recommend now? as that was a long time ago. Also, do the X-faders ware out fast? Thanks.
