I love your videos! You seem to be the sweetest person and I love the way you are with all of your pets! You are a true animal lover! I am so sorry for your loss of Rio. I am a new bird owner and I had a tragedy recently and lost both of my male budgies that were only 2 years old. I was making tea and was boiling water in a tephlon pan and burned the pan and the fumes killed both birds in about 15 minutes. I didn't realize the fumes were that bad and that budgies were that sensitive to the fumes. I loved my birds and still can't believe this happened so for others out there please be careful with your tephlon or non-stick pans...

I was actually thinking of rehoming them all because of losing Rio but I pulled through because I know my other pets needed me.

@@Loveofpets please don't rehome any of them cos it would be more traumatic then passing peacefully. The new owners probably couldn't match up the standards of caring you provided for them. For all we know Rio had a great ltime with you. Sadly every now and then pet birds died due to unknown circumstances that couldn't be rule out is what bird owners gotta go through. Just give them the very best we could when they are alive. Rio is flying high. Regards.

How my two budgies meant was not what I had in mind. Had my first budgie for 2 years. Then got a new budgie not very old. 8 weeks old. I had them in their cages went somewhere and came home to the new bird out. Hanging on my first budgie cage. Kind of induced herself. She had gotten out though the cage bars. So I ordered a new cage for her. Great video! I really enjoy your videos. ❤🐦🙂

Hello, I've never seen your channel before. I am sorry for your loss of your dear Rio. I have lost several birds over the years. The pain lessens but never goes away. My latest loss was September 1, 2017. I now have one rescue cockatiel, and a YorkiePoo I got on purpose and another small dog who was dumped in my neighborhood. It feels weird having only one bird. I've also been sick since Dixie died. The bird vet and my friends say that I need to get well before getting another bird. I know they are right as some days it is a struggle just to take care of my three pets and me. Some people just don't understand that birds are as much of pets as dogs and cats. Allow yourself to grieve. I hope the necropsy gives you some answers. Dixie died at the bird hospital when the friend who drove us and I went home to get her medicine. Just remind yourself that Rio was in a safe place receiving excellent care which we usually can't provide at home. Starfire is a Turquoisine Parakeet. He is a mutation color as the normal color is more green. They are grass keets meaning they spend their time on the ground eating grass seeds. They are flighty birds and can't climb like a budgie so keeping them flighted is very important for them to get around. They are similar to the Bourke's Parakeets but in a different genus called Neophema. Bourke's genus is Neopsephotus. They eat the same as Bourke's. I should make a video, lol

Turquoisines are kind of like rainbow Bourkes, yes? Very quiet with big eyes and very calm and sweet. Do they enjoy being perched on your hand for longer than a minute? Do they stay for an hour sometimes? On your shoulder?

They are similar but a little more nervous. He prefers to be flying or be on the floor. He lands on my back and shoulders now and won't step up much. Turquoisines can revert back to wild once in a flock situation but I find bourkes stay tame in a flock situation.

They can hang but are not good at climbing since they don't use there beak to climb. Some can though but most don't.

Thank you. Starfire will stay in his own cage for now unless the Bourke's except him in their cage. The food is the same as the Bourke's. I will do a part two when he is more comfortable in the bird room.

I know your heart hurts. I lost my only grandchild caique Kiwi. It broke.my heart. He was only 3 months and a piece old. I can only find comfort in knowing he will be in heaven waiting for me. He is o pretty 💛 .I just one to say I also don't really know why my bird died she had one split leg and a huge mass near the stomach. The vet did some tests to see if it was cancer and got a negative. Now that I feel more calm and I can process the situation better u think I find my answer. She had many shots of lupron and that is a bad medication it can mess up the system and destroy the gut and digestive system. I had lupron shots myself f oh r fertility and I have been very sick since. I still have one other lovebird is 16years old and he is showing symptoms is poop are dark . Anyway since your bird was as female maybe she also had lupron shots. Something to stay away from. Love💜

These birds are hard to find especially a hand fed baby. I actually was contacted by one of my fans that alerted me to this bird as the breeder was close by. My fan got his clutch mate.

my bird picasso past away yesterday. i took school off today and i cant stop crying. we don't know why he died, and he was only a budgie so obviously he was delicate, so there's no telling what could've killed him. he loved me so much and he would chirp when i walked in and jump onto the door so i could hold him and whenever i set him down he would fly back to me. i miss him so much

I heard that it is toxic but call an avian vet and type it in on Google. I hope your birds will be okay. It would depend on how much they eat if it would be toxic to them but I could be wrong. Call vets right away and look for symptoms of sickness
