My RT had detached from its lever was a quick fix, but I couldn’t get the top plate off for the life of me, then realised there were two hidden screws under the sticker. Your video was a lifesaver

thanks, that really helped! my left stick made some noises after a while and was really scratchy when moving, with the help of your video i disassembled and lubed the mechanics of the stick - better than new now!

This is very helpful for me because for some reason, my control when I have it plugged into my xbox it disconnects in like a few minutes or so later so I’ll have to unplug it and then will you plug it in and it just sucks so this video honestly helps me because of now I can actually take a look the thing to see what’s wrong with it so thank you

Helped a lot! Barely used mine and the RT started sticking (I grip my controllers to tight during intense action on screen). Tore it down and discovered small rectangular mylar stickers that where just barely hanging to some small posts on the underside of the back cover. They are placed there half on and half off these posts to produce a spring back mechanic for LT and RT. Wore out the adhesive unfortunately. Strong adhesive though. Since I didn't have replacements on hand, I re-assembled it for now.

Thanks bro, for some reason my Right Joystick kept defaulting to a slight up position making my chars in game do some wierd shite. Turns out two screws were put on so tight it was catching the joystick with the housing before it could return to "zero" / default. Would've never found those extra screws hidden behind the stickers and woulda ended up brute forcing and breaking something.

As far as I know, all of the xbox controllers (and some PS controllers) use the same potentiometer sensor, you can buy them on ebay and amazon really cheap. Just find one marked Xbox One Controller.

Does anyone know if the Sticks can be swapped with ones that are hot swappable ? And if so, do i need to buy the one for Xbox S etc Controllers or ? Im ordering the Controller for myself atm and im thinking about if i may some Time have to switch them out.

I'm not sure. They are slightly different looking joystick modules than what I'm used to seeing in Microsoft controllers though

when your taking the vibrators out, do you have to press something to disconnect the white plastic thing or just pull it out

Just need to gentle pry it out, it's a pretty tight fit so be careful not to pull the housing off the motherboard

I don't think there's any sort of aftermarket or parts availability for the triggers and bumpers unfortunately, I think both are a proprietary design

I understand that this tutorial was a while ago but my RT sometimes activates twice and my LT sometimes activates my RT. Before I take it apart do you know what could be causing it?

@@widedog7397 when you start getting cross feed on the motherboard like that the controller is most likely not repairable. You can check my other video for the potential recalibration process but if there are damaged components it can actually make it worse. If you need to replace the controller I recommend the Gamesir G7 SE. Good luck!

I need to replace the tactile button for my left stick. The little button on the side that gets pressed down by the joystick. Do you know how to remove that little button from the two clamps on it's side that hold it in?

@@Rocky-917 the joysticks aren't design to be disassembled like you are describing, they are soldered into the motherboard. If that piece has broken I'm afraid for most users it's time to move on to a new controller. I recommend the Gamesir G7SE, it has hall effect sticks and triggers and is affordable!

Follow this tutorial to disassemble and make sure that everything is put back together the right way. Sometimes the springs that control trigger depth and rebound can get misaligned or popped out. Let me know how this goes!

i got this controller for Christmas in 2023 and about 5 months ago my cousin was using this controller but he stepped on it and the rt (shoot button) popped out but he popped it back in but today it became loose and now its staying down while being loose and i cant fix it. Sounds like the spring assembly came unhooked on the inside. If you want to follow this guide to get it open you could compare the two triggers to see what the difference is that might be causing your issue

The joystick covers, like the parts your thumbs touch. But the assembly inside is soldered in like all the other Xbox controllers and don't come out

Sorry I missed this comment: I believe these controllers might use a proprietary bumper cover that you can't replace with stock Xbox One controller parts sadly :/

@@bigdre313 do you mean the LT got pushed all the way in and won't spring back out? You could definitely try disassembling the controller and putting it back to the way it's supposed to be

@@ian.exottic the vibration packs are designed to pop in and out, if the plugs and cables aren't damaged you should be able to plug them back in. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding the question.

Messed up in what way? Even though you are sure you didn't damage the ribbon cable, I would disassemble it and start by checking the cable and then checking that it got plugged all the way back in on both sides

I'm afraid mine is cooked. I'm going to try and return it as it's still under warranty. So sad that they don't make these things to last anymore. 2nd controller in a year, and I don't even game every day.

@brad4280 good luck with the warranty. If you end up needing to buy a new one I recommend the Gamesir line of Xbox controllers, they offer several options with good features like paddles and hall effect sticks for a great price

@@kaakop4 if the paddle is loose it's probable that something is broken inside. These don't really have the type of wear parts in the paddle assembly that would get looser over time. When you give the controller a shake do you hear any rattling?

Fixed numerous drifting xbox controllers in the past, HOWEVER, after watching your vid it seems these controllers have orange covers for the discs and i believe those are for playstation? Found some online but they have two values 10k and 2.5k Any insight would be great but no worries if not, this video has already made my job easier :)

Unfortunately on this controller it is soldered in, but if you have soldering skills and could find the correct part somewhere online I don't see why not!

I’ve gone through about 6 of these controllers over the past year or so. One major issue I ALWAYS run into, is the controller disconnecting. Ive tested the wire on other controllers and it works fine. Something happens to the USB port overtime. Have you found a fix for this?

I've never had a persistent disconnecting issue, mine just always get stuck drift in the left stick after like a year

Gunna be tough to find a disassembly video on a brand new release $200 controller because everyone will be getting any issues fixed via warranty and because of the price much fewer people will buy them. I highly recommend the Gamesir G7SE controller, has Hall Effect sticks and triggers for a fraction of the price

Mine constantly disconnects or “unpairs”. Advice was “Make sure your Xbox and your controller have the latest software updates” When they say this you know they’re just stalling because everyone keeps their software up to date, it’s the first thing everyone checks and consoles automatically update when you’re online. So I think these controllers, or at least a large number of them are fundamentally flawed and can’t be fixed because there are loads of complaints on Microsoft, reddit and at turtle beach and they only get “make sure your software is up to date” Phhhhht. Great controller if it would stay connected but as it is it’s just a doorstop.

Yeah the controller updates are hit or miss. It's worth at least going and checking if the controller needs an update. I don't buy them anymore because I think the joystick they use is an inferior design and breaks. I've been really liking the Gamesir G7SE for about three months or so

I would take it back apart and make sure the ribbon cable for the audio is properly connected to both boards and didn't get pinched or damaged during reassembly.

The two I owned worked flawlessly with Xbox One and Series X until I used them so much the physical components broke. It's a little bit of a cheaply made controller, but provides great features for the price and will be great for most gamers. I'm currently using the Gamesir G7SE and loving it.

I just bought one today and I have a series x and it only works on the xbox interface and not a game and it doesn't light up all the way? I just got a replacement but the one i had earlier worked In my sons PC and it didn't have a firmware update???? Anyone have this issue?
