I have used both TW products and very pleased with both of them. Seal and Shine came out before the ceramic coating and I was very pleased with how it worked on my truck. Granted the scent of Seal and Shine was not the best, reminded me of a hair product but it worked very well. Then I tried the ceramic spray coating and I kind of liked it better for the ease of application and the shine it left. In fact, I did a second coating the next day and I was blown away by the shine that it leaves on my truck. It really catches my eye when I go into the garage and look at my truck. I swear its glossier and has a wet look that lasts longer than I expect. Hands down for me, ceramic coating spray is the better of the two. Durability is a toss up between the two, they are both good, maybe it comes down to price of each product.

Great video! Something to note - the Seal n Shine technically had two coats per its directions, whereas the Ceramic version would need a coat, 24 hr cure time, then another coat, then another 24 hrs to have the same number of applications. It could be argued that this test was two coats of Seal n Shine vs one of Ceramic. There are pros and cons to that, I guess.

Here’s my recent review. I purchased this last year in June while at the auto parts store getting products to do a last minute detail on my mustang before autocross and car show on father’s day weekend. I did not properly apply because I was in a rush and I can tell you that wash was the last time I washed it until last week when it was time to bring it back out. Car sat in the elements the entire time as well as a few drives during the winter when the roads were clear enough. As I was washing the car I was confused as to why the water was beading so much and I had completely spaced that I used this hybrid ceramic spray that day last June. Bought the product as an “eh why not” and now it’s all I’ll ever use. Quick and is as well as offers great protection especially if properly applied. 10/10 - weekend warrior detailer

I am a professional car painter for the last 50 years I have used or try to use the ceramic spray on my black Mustang. I didn't particularly care for it. Turtle Wax said that Ceramic Spray Coating sees it's best durability when you apply 2 coats, 24 hours apart, with another 24 hours of cure (no soap) after that. I would like to see that tested against Seal N shine, with Both being given the 24 hour re-coat and another 24 hour cure.

Love Seal and Shine, but already had pre-ordered the ceramic spray as well. The streaking sucks, but I found rotating constant dry towels helped some. I found that if I pushed to finish a panel, and there was a buildup already, it streaked more than when I just kept grabbing dry ones.

I’ve applied Seal N Shine to a few different cars and the only time it got streaky for me was when I was doing it in heat/sunlight. You absolutely cannot use Seal N Shine in the sun or else you will get streaks. It flash-dries on the surface so you literally can’t wipe it off. To fix the streaks, I waited until it cooled off, then reapplied the product on top of the streaky areas and it fixed it.

We designed this product to compliment the fan-favorite ICE Seal N Shine and created it to solve some of the detailers’ pain points with SNS. The difference-makers in the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating product include: - Easy on, easy off product application even in direct sunlight & high humidity - amazing results on paint, metal, plastic & glass in minutes - Chemical resistant, but designed for real-world application so it lasts up to 12 months when applied per the directions on the bottle (cure time is important here - AND don’t apply your 2nd coat until after the first coat cured for 24 hours) - Increased depth of paint color, gloss & shine

@@PanTheOrganizer It’s still a good comparison that you did Paaaaaan The Jimboniser 😜😃. What I do like and has become clear, is the 24hr cure time, you can still use the vehicle even if it rains. I’m still very keen on getting it though. It’s been emotional Pan 😊😃

After using Seal N Shine and other coatings dried on dirt over time seems to be a better torture test than a same day chemical test.

I’ve used Turtle Wax Express Shine for a couple years. It is streak prone on hot panels. I’d love to see how it stacks up against these two products.

I was getting bad brake dust on my 19 PP1 mustang GT gloss black wheels. Put some seal n shine on em for the hell of it. Night n day. Almost zero brake dust sticking to the wheels. Works soo good

On the ceramic coating, a 24 hour cure is needed between coats too. You put it on too thick imo. Great vid! Can't wait to try it. No such thing as a "wet cure", really, imo. S&S needs no cure. The ceramic coating will wash right off if not cured properly. In conclusion, for my money, I'm Stickin with S&S. Cheaper and more durable. In my use of S&S, I had no problem with the streaking on the paint. However, I did have some streaking on glass. TW tried to one up on S&S but imo just didn't score with the ceramic.

Do you use the Costco microfiber towels for all aspects of detailing? If not, what do you use for the various detailing tasks?

Love seal n shine. But was wondering if you can use the tw hybrid ceramic and top it off with seal n shine? Or vice versa?

Man this is a tough one but i will say i have a decent stock of S&S and it being a bit more elbow grease to keep the streaks away isn’t an issue for me because when using one towel for application and one for buffing its not that big of a deal, will still be picking up the ceramic coating for some certain areas I’d like to test, great comparison Jimbo Edit: I’d like to emphasize again the fact even turtle wax mentioned on their instagram that if someone just wants a chemical resistant beast that S&S is the go to but the ceramic coating caters to those who just dont wanna put in thr additional elbow grease for buffing off the S&S. Love the fact how they are transparent and arent just trying to upsell

JIMBO'S DETAILING,Great job on all you videos,Very detailed and your one of the best out there,My question is,I just got done polishing my new silver Ram with Meguires d301finishing polish and was wondering if I needed to strip the wax off before applying S&S or the ceramic spray. Also, would you recommend anything else over silver paint to make it pop more? I know silver is a tough color.Thank you in advance...

i do both, strip before application and use it as a maintenance product.

Extremely well done!!! It looked to me like Seal and Shine edged it out at the end but like you and others have commented, they were both so close that it will probably come down to preference based on the pros and cons of each product. Also from a "real world conditions" standpoint the Ceramic Spray when applied with a second coat after the initial 24hr cure time, is SUPPOSED to have more long term durability. Of course time will tell... Aside from that I'm going to definitely pick some up and test it out on my own vehicles.

Too bad my driveway detailing has pretty much come to an end here in Wisconsin. I'll be picking it up in the spring. If both products are virtually the same, I give the nod to a better smell. Seal n shine smells bad for sure. Excellent video Jimbo, thanks for the info!!

Same here, over in MN! I actually don't mind the smell of Seal n Shine. I think it was Jimbo, but someone said it smells like his dad/grandpa cologne lol. I have 2 extra bottles of Seal n Shine that I bought at Walmart for $6/bottle, so I'll be waiting for plenty of durability tests before I spend money to replace something that's already a rockstar in my arsenal.

@@Twiztid_Metal. Cheapest price in the UK is £7,50 but you have to buy 2 bottles to get that price. About 6 weeks ago you could buy a bottle from some detailing websites for £6. Now because of the explosion on KZbin and media they are now up to £14 a bottle! Luckily I currently have 5 bottles! 😁🏴

Hello, enjoyed your video a lot. Would you need to throw the towels away after one use because the ceramic spray will crystallize on them and cause scratching the next time they're used? Thanks.
