Turtle WoW Tel’Abim - Did Not Age Well

It did not take that long for this server's population to nose dive. The main server was at this level a few years back so maybe it can make a comeback story as well. I'll never know because I do not intend to play here again.

Not only is the PvP server quickly dying, but all of turtle wow is bleeding players FAST. Check out the population statistics. SoD will overtake and overthrow turtle wow. I will no longer invest my time into a dying/dead community. Its over now.

tbh I don't see this as a vindication of the anti-pvp sentiment. Three reasons. 1. China has a pvp realm and it's by far the most popular realm among the chinese turtle wow realms. 2. SoD launch coincided with the pvp realm's decline. If not for SoD, or once SoD's hype wears off, I'm confident the numbers will change for turtle wow. Not only that, but it seems SoD has had a general effect on turtle wow as a whole, because the pve realm was sitting at at least twice the average population number shown in this video prior to SoD. 3. As the video mentions, original pve only turtle wow's population looked like this for years before exploding.

@@ashiok even the battlegrounds on the pve server were barely populated before they launched the pvp server. If you can't even find 10 or 15 pvpers for a wsg or ab, then these pvpers must be a very very small group.

I mean the whole server is a pve/rp boomer server pretty much, ofc no one is pvping there. The type of people that are like pvp is only for children.

It hasn't been 4-5 months yet actually, which is what makes this even worse. The realm launched October 16th, which means its only been out for 2 months. I'm disappointed cause I was really excited for this pvp realm. I honestly think the release of *Classic: SoD* took a lot of players away from the server though. Cause SoD is SUPER heavy on world pvp and battlegrounds right now, being that everyone is the same level and restricted to the same areas. Hopefully the realm numbers pick up over time and doesn't continue to decline. But SoD is easily the best option right now for real pvp junkies to get their fix.

ive been disappointed with ashenvale pvp tbh, everyone logs in only to zerg the pve bosses and only occasionally horde and alliance meet in small groups to pvp.

@@SU-vy8nb I’ve unsubbed till phase 2 but I found tons of pvp in the open world, dungeon entrances or just wandering around ashenvale.

I came to Twow for the first time right when they released Tel'Abim pvp. The server was trash, it started with high numbers but dwindled fast because of all of the dishonorable pieces of garbage that get to level 60 and consistantly harass players well below their level. If the community was actually decent this wouldnt have happened, but the community is actually filled with nothing but trolls and very lonely people who have to get off on ruining others' gaming experience. Shame on your community for letting this happen.

Yeah I was there when Tel'Abim launched as well. I was excited because I have always played on PvP servers. It was very disappointing with all the griefing going on. Obviously I love PvP because I've always played on PvP servers but if you fell behind the leveling curve you were in for a bad time.

Ah, splitting the communities was awful for all players. There was no need for the PvP server because there was already warmode where people can hop in and out as they please. Tel'Abim killed Turtle WoW in general for me because they let the ones who just enjoyed warmode and having people around to actually PvP. We can sit here and say that the devs wanted the best, and I'm sure they did but they let the whole community down by splitting it up into two realms. They knew exactly what could happen yet just did it.

Pretty disappointing honestly. I was playing on the Twinstar Athena server for a bit and thought I'd try Turtle but only the pve realm seems to have a high pop. It'll be interesting to see how the Turtle team deals with this problem. More advertising? Realm merge?

Not sure. You have people who play there that seem to think sub 500 server pop is totaly fine because they raid and stuff.not everyone raids and like to male alts and enjoy the thrill of low level pvp. But not my problem I have moved on I just thought it was sad with such a great launch that i was there for and it was great

Yeah I like PVP area like WSG and Duels etc, but a PVP server sounds like a bad idea , what if a level 2 gets camper killed by a level 60 ? I seen it happen on a PVE server , only sound fun for 60 Cap players , kinda don't blame people

To be honest i run around in SoD and i like the runes and the wpvp in ashenvale. But i also really miss all the stuff twow added including the much nicer community. When the SoD Hypetrain has moved i think a lot of players will turn away from GDKP and gold sellers and return to the beauty twow created

VanillaFixes add on are on Steam ? I DL Vanilla fixes and followed the steps , that actually killed the WoW exe and couldn't get the game too load up , i had too delete the files and start over again , the HD Patch made the Gobline Females have no faces and High Elves starting zone the NCP guards where white and blue boxes 😕

People can walk while getting stunned from blackout. Once I realized that I knew a pvp server would be worthless so I quit turtle entirely.

I think you, like me have seen the fault with this server and there are a few things: ranging from the awkward quest text (added), rigid character motion, mobs running into your pets/your character model, sound being completely out of sync when fighting multiple players in pvp or multiple mobs. And just an overall San Andreas type feel - choppy, and that was fine for GTA because it added to the aesthetic and overall humour. But in TWoW for instance when players die, their animations don't even go off occasionally and instead they just lie flat on the ground in an instant (drop dead like San Andreas NPC). When someting is free there's always a downgrade in quality compared to the paid version. Play Classic official and you will see the difference in quality instantaneously, how smooth everything is.
