This was a cool video! I also played til maybe level 10 back in the original release of TBC when I was a very young kid but runescape has always been my thing. My buddy got me hyped for classic release in 2019 and all of us and a group of friends played a ton! I only got to 37 because everyone out leveled me and I was on my own, but me and that same friend just picked it back up and I already feel a sense of nostalgia from my short stint in 2019! Its amazing what these pure, original, renditions were like. Absolutely love the whole atmosphere of this game!

Although I find the gameplay from newer players to be, uh, difficult to watch... ...I really enjoy the vicarious experience. It's not all nostalgia. The game really IS special.

Haha, yes, please excuse me clicking on items in the action bar. I am used to Dota and Dota 2, so my hot keys bound are more set for that, and I need to adjust for WoW I really feel I missed out on this game when it came out, though, so I am glad I can experience that.

Back in classic, I stacked agility on a mage for "faster attack speed" and I sold staffs with actual stats on them for staffs that had high melee attack power thinking it would increase my damage. I didn't do a single quest leveling up and also didn't know about addons, but I still managed to grind mobs all the way to 60! I tried using thotbot, but I wasn't really good with it. I would give it all to go back and travel under stormwind with my mage friends. Lilshorter (gnome mage), I miss you man, hope all is well! - Thunderknigh

No doubt that classic wow is one of the greatest games of all time. The memories, social aspect, and story building is top tier. Everyone should try it at least once. Rarely anymore do you get an uncorporatized passion project game loaded with content and players. Glad you enjoy.

I am glad to see this video i am in the same boat as yo guys playing classic for the first time on the rerelease. It is one of the games that makes me wanna talk about how tightly woven the game systems are to one another. Keep making videos this was great!

In classic, frost mage aoe farming is ADDICTING. Especially when you learn to pull large groups of mobs in dungeons as 4 mages and 1 priest. Doing that in sfk, rfk and scarlet monastery were the best memories of WoW for me hands down. So good in fact I wish I could erase my memory of it just to relive it. the "who" list under (social) and typing in any region made it easy to find players.

Mage has been my favorite in most games, and I enjoy the options in WoW classic so far. The AoE is loads of fun even though I'm still there. Twitch has become fond of group and dungeon play, and the community on the server we are on is very nice, which is sadly not always true of most games.

Seems like a lot of people are coming into WoW classic these days without ever playing any version before, and I love to see it. I think WoW was better before the expansions -- still have good memories of the expansions, but not the same kind of game anymore. Very satisfying to see that it's not just rose-tinted glasses.

Couldn’t agree more. Looking back, it’s apparent that Blizzard had already started down the wrong path as early as the original TBC expansion back in the day. Classic/Vanilla is where the magic occurs, and Blizzard never managed to recapture it with subsequent expansions; in fact, the game just kept getting worse.

Feel very grateful to have been 12 year old during original TBC I played during season 1 of arena and remember season 2 coming out then WOTLK launch. It was very special and sadly addicting

indeed that era made great games! Warcraft 3, GTA vice city and san andreas, operation flashpoint (the first of ARMA series), DOOM 3, and one of my favorites which I recently started playing again (available on steam in a bundle) is Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour, they dont make em like thy used to so to speak ;)

It's also amazing at how many hold their own against modern games. Though, perhaps that's because so many control schemes, formats, and play styles were created then. Sometimes it feels we don't have anything that's ambitious but more of a repeat of a working model. I mean, I recall Witcher 1's controls and despite the game being good for other reasons they were willing to change it up which really improved the series.
