Turtle man is a genuinely nice man. My family and I ran into Turtleman at the Museum of Appalachia when we were visiting my wife's grandparents in Knoxville. Ernie took pictures with all of us willingly with a genuine smile on his face the whole time and as we were going through the different outbuildings at the museum I was able to learn quite a bit about him because Turtleman had no problem carrying on a conversation with me. We met Ernie's girlfriend and her daughter both whom he spoke highly of. I guess what I'm getting at is that soft hearts grieve hard and I am very sorry for your loss Turtleman and thank you for the memories! May god soothe your soul during this time of sadness and darkness and to everyone who is feeling Neal's loss, my heart goes out to you all. Be well and godbless.

I've watched call of the wild man since I was about 5 or 6 years old and Neal and ernie was my favorite 2 people they are legends in my book. The best thing about Neal as well as all the Turtle Team when you see them on tv or whether you saw them in person they were always the same old down to earth country boys. Last time I saw Neal was at Christmas time and we had our pics made together right after the parade and I told him we had to include his Banjo in the pic because that was a part of him. He never met a stranger and if he ever knew you then he never forgot you. RIP Neal.
