Lucca is my favourite by far. We stayed in the gorgeous hilltop village of Gombitelli just 12km from Lucca and 12km from the Mediterranean sea too. ❤

Where would be the most central home base in Tuscany with a car. And also… how is parking when visiting these towns you mentioned. We have 5-6 days. 🙏🏾 thank you.

I think the answer would be Siena. However we did not stay in a central home base during our one week visit to Tuscany. We set off from Florence (3 nights) and drive to Pienza, Siena and San Gimignano and stayed at these towns for 1 to 2 nights. I would recommend this approach as you don't keep going back to your central home base and are allowed to enjoy the dinner and night life of different towns, and save your time and petrol.

Does anyone know what the name (or spelling) of the hilltop town that is mentioned at 3:54 of the video? I have tried to locate it on the map, but I must be spelling it incorrectly because I can’t locate it. Thank you in advance for any help.
