Great update! Absolutely loved the Caribbean elevator music! All three cars are about as desirable as a car can be. Thanks for letting us take a look!

Hi Dave, I was very impressed with the way you load/unload cars from your trailer, very polished. I’m thinking you’ve done that before! 😊👍

That hotel complex in Gettysburg is great. Held several AACA events there recently and the folks are wonderful. Get a Whoopie Pie!

Busy man! Hope to hear some sound bytes of the Alfa driving, as well as the TR3 in the future. Good call with the Alfas' clutch master/slave. My new brake master (new in 2016) already is burping black residue into the res. I should have gone DOT5 :(

18:33 I think in the differential GL5 oil might be the better choice due to the hypoid gears. The shear forces are higher than usual and the GL4 oil is not rated for that. GL4 and GL5 doesn't really tell you anything about whether or not it's for a classic vehicle. It's just different applications, with the exception that GL5 shouldn't be used with certain types of bronze/brass bearing material (which I don't think are present in the differential). Disclaimer: I don't know what Triumph specifies for the differential.

They specify GL4.

Dave what starting point do you use for setting up the jets in your SU carbs? I have HS6 carbs on my TR4A and have found several opinions on this. Most common seems to be setting the jet flush with the bridge, the taking it down 12 flats, then taking the jet up (leaner) one flat at a time doing the “piston lift” test, until the idle doesn’t change. What method do you use?
@cheftush2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, sorry for the late reply. Turn the nut until it meets slight resistance and then turn down 12 flats (2 full turns). Then lift each damper piston a small amount (about 3/16") with a thin screwdriver. The engine should speed up for a moment and then return to normal idle RPM. After this, I just monitor plugs and go from there. If you are monitoring plugs, try to do it when you get home from a spirited drive and don’t let the car idle before you shut it off at home…

@@cheftush thanks Dave! Looked like a lot of great cars at Gettysburg.

The Alfa is looking fantastic. I think this is the first time we've seen the 250 move under its own power? You must be close to having that certified and licensed for the summer. Will you also be attending the VTR gathering in Illinois?
@cheftush2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill, I think I’ve shown the 250 moving under its own power once before…yes, it’s pretty close just needs alignment and tuning and then certification. I’ll get back to working on that when I get home. I’d like to attend VTR, but it looks like my work schedule will get in the way. I’m going to 6-Pack in Kentucky later though.

All 3 cars look great. Doc is getting a very nice car. Were the tires and rims on the F150 take offs?
@cheftush2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bryan, yes the F150 were take offs from a 2020.

So,how did the installation of the clutch master and slave cylinders for the Alfa go? Any issues? Who was your supplier for the cylinders? Thanks hope you enjoy your TR show.
@cheftush2 жыл бұрын
The installation went well…fairly easy but there are a few areas that are tight like the bottom bolt that holds the clutch master to the bracket…the clevis pin can be a bit difficult to get back in as well as there is a little indent in the firewall that makes alignment difficult. I bought my parts from Centerline.
