Hi this is for Gini, I couldn’t get the comment box to come up, so I piggy backed onto yours. I agree completely with your comments, and just wanted to add my own😊. Gini thank you so very much for another very informative video. Your tutorial was so detailed and you explained it all so very well, I will be saving it for future reference! Thank you also for your links to the inspirational designer styles. I added a few of the “lantern” shaped pants to my Pinterest. I especially liked the red plaid flannel ones with the fun pockets in front. I might be able to modify one of TG’s pants patterns to copy those. Also, the Style Arc pattern is just the kind I would love to make. It’s always so fun to see you, your episodes are always a treat.🤗❤️

Hi there. Great tutorial, love the fold your zip at the top tip! I've got a pair of pants ready to sew up but I realise they hip pickets and really I'm trying to avoid hip pockets. How could I not have noticed that? 😤😱😂

I really hate when I buy a pattern and then, as I'm ready to cut, I realize it doesn't have pockets, or is has in seam pockets or it's made for a totally different fabric than I had planned etc... 🙄

Melanated Fabrics is (or was) owned by MimiG and Brittney (probably misspelled) Jones. I used to watch BJ videos often, she was delightful to watch. There's been a lot of changes in jobs and titles of the two of them (McVoguericity) so I'm not certain if they are still the owners but they started the company.

Thanks Charlotte I think they do still own Melanated fabrics. Yeah, lots of shake-ups over there at the big4/big1

Great tutorial - thanks! Sometimes when I put a facing on the waistband, I have trouble with it stretching as I wear it. Any tips? I do really like the zipper top finish - will be trying that out soon. And, thanks for the shout-out for Melanated Fabrics which has a lovely storefront near me in Atlanta. They do have a carefully curated selection of fun and contemporary fabrics.

that is is really good question MJ and the only suggestion I have is to reinforce the top of the waist with twill tape. I wish I was closer to Atlanta I'd love to check out the Melanated brick and mortar shop 🤗

Hi Gini! I am catching up here and there so just hoping that your dad is doing okay. I wondered if you or your followers have ever tried this zero waste skirt pattern? It was one of my first sewing patterns (really just a sewing explanation in a PDF), and has given me so much joy! It is the Clair Skirt by Liz Haywood (Craft of Clothes on Etsy). It has a similar silhouette to the ones you mention, but is really crafty. As a beginner it taught me a ton, and she was so responsive when I asked her questions.

Hi Georgie yes thank you my Dad is FINALLY home from the hospital and on the mend. I have Liz Haywood's book but I've honestly never made any of the patterns, I have seen this skirt on etsy and have been intrigued for a long time, I might have to give it a try now I know how much you like it!
