ayy been waiting for this tutorial :D as someone who carries a shulker of torches around in my ender chest, this is super useful! built it by my wood chopping area on the server i play on which has the 1.21 blocks added so I can just throw stacks of logs in for torches when I'm done. :D i'm still a bit of a beginner when it comes to redstone stuff, but this was a nice small project to tackle to get me acquainted with the crafter. ty cub

You know, with some moss you could make this fully automated. Bonemeal+moss=azalea. Bonemeal+azalea=wood. TNT the wood and put it into your torch machine.

Pretty handy to always have some torches available. I'd recommend an automatic shutoff switch though, so it'll turn off if the end product container gets full. To make that as simple as possible to fit in, I'd recommend moving the end product container over by a block, an leading a hopper in it. Read the hopper's content with a comparator, with an observer below, and you can hide the rest of the redstone under the floor. All you need is 2 carpets to cover the hopper and the comparator that'd be on the output chest/barrel's level.

I have created my own torch machine that is more efficient. I get 32 torches per 10 logs which is 3.2 per log to your 3. It can also handle a full double chest of logs and outputs a double chest of torches.

I was half way through your HC. Ep1 and then had to go on my Redstone sandpit and made my own, the only thing I couldn't do was make the elevator flush with the floor, because the dispensers need redstone all the way up, I was trying to keep both barrels above ground. But you could hid it with some decorative moss carpet

I'm just guessing but at 6:40 is that chest just overflow protection? Can it be a barrel or just go strait into the crafter?
@evanwhite28452 ай бұрын
A little late but he mentioned in the description that the double chest will over time accumulate extra sticks, so it being a double chest just gives you some extra time before you would need to empty it out

as much as i like the new autocrafter block, i stand with scar haha, it is great for decorating, as the whole setup isn't really friendly towards players - builders, made too complicated from the beginning, and as i am very bad at redstone (i know the basics and some simple contraptions), but anything above that is just too difficult for me, i mean i can follow the tutorials, but...what if i want to autocraft something that doesn't have a tutorial, at least i didn't find any yet (oh my) - was planning to autocraft dried kelp into blocks and i just ended at doing it manually :|

Does this work for Bedrock as well or just Java edition of Minecraft?
@ojamaftk95856 ай бұрын
The only part of it that doesn't work is the target block(because for some reason it doesn't redirect redstone in bedrock), so you would need to change the droppervator design.

@A11V1R156 ай бұрын
It works in the latest snapshot? They made hoppers don't push anything if there's a full block non-storage over them. If that breaks the machine, then you'll have to use beehives specifically instead of any block over the hoppers with the chestboat inside Edit: I tested it. I'll work fine no modificatios needed

Hey Cub … don’t get me wrong, I am a fan … but auto torches? Really? Look at that laundry list of resources needed for something you can craft without a crafting table. I mean … you have sticks and coal there in your inventory. Just make the torches. In my modest opinion, I think a better name for this would be … a crafter tutorial: how the crafter can be utilized. Then it would make more sense showing how the mechanics can be utilized. Personally, I would never go to so much length to just be able to make torches. It’s the epitome of overkill … but I digress. The firework machine would be a much better representation of your ingenuity. Anyway, still a fan but just don’t agree with this contraption. No ROI in my opinion. If you happen to read this, thank you for your time. Still watching. 😁👍🏻

People have different pet peeves apparently. I go through so many torches that the idea of never having to craft another one by hand is thrilling to me. 😂 I rarely use Redstone when I play, but this is definitely a contraption I will be building.
@Madragoric6 ай бұрын
@@lithiumqueen I appreciate your opinion; however, we all have our own perspective. I like the tutorial for the mechanics is demonstrates but disagree with the overall use of auto crafting torches. Torches are the most simple items to craft and usually one of the very first things you craft when starting a world. By the time one has the resources to build this machine, you already have a ton of torches, are using other items for light, or can just craft them in a split second in your inventory. I consider this contraption a novelty that when built will be used a time or two and then forgotten. Like I said, I appreciate seeing the mechanics of the crafter but, again in my opinion, an auto torch maker is frivolous in the big scheme of things in overall game play. Just my personal opinion. Thank you for your response though. :)
@Madragoric6 ай бұрын
@@equestrianrosie yeah everyone has their own methods or needs ... if it works for you ... great!! It's something I wouldn't do. It's just torches and there are a plethora of other light emitting items that can be used. So, you do you. Thanks for the reply! :)
@Fenriren6 ай бұрын
I'd love this contraption in my lategame world where I don't want to go mining for coal for torches. Just open a chest and boom, all the torches I'd need. I guess if you've never made it to the lategame where you try and automate everything, you wouldn't appreciate this machine tho
@Madragoric6 ай бұрын
@@Fenriren well … to each their own. I personally still see no need for this particular automated system for torches. Whether it be late game or not. It’s just … torches. Again, I appreciate the mechanics of the crafter and the design but would never use it. I believe it to be frivolous. Again, it’s just torches. But thanks for the reply! 😁👍🏻
