Oh my Anne, you outdid yourself on this! All the layers, texture, dimension ~ so yummy!! 🥰 Loving the feathers and then the contrast of the beige colored doily thing! Wow! Love it all, really do. I find myself talking and agreeing with you on the placement of all the pieces. 🤪 So much fun! Would love to see your process of decorating the inside too. I have my daughter save all her teabags. I'm a coffee fiend ~ not tea. I've got a nice little stash of different colored tea bags now. The peach tea she drinks leaves the most lovely rose colored stain. Those are my favorite!

thanks Sandy for this lovely comment. I am like you sometime, talking to videos to agree or disagree ... so funny when our brain does that! We are really into it! lollll My sister too is helping me with herbal tea bags... she keeps them all for me! 😍 because I am using more than I drink! ahah!

I've been watching your videos over & over again. Finally got all my laces out and spread them on couch so I could see everything. Which does help. But this seems harder than it looks. I've only done 4 so far. And I do think I'm getting better. But still seems I have a long way to go yet. Am I the ONLY ONE who is finding this difficult??? Is it just ME? Do I need lots more practice??? I'm a bit frustrated. I have nice laces, so that's not it. Hum??!! Any thoughts from anyone?? Thanks!! Austin,TX USA
@odulcina2 жыл бұрын
You are not alone, that is for sure! you need some basic like the cheese cloth and polka dot tule and some fabric lace (that is not a lace but to do clothing) to have bigger pieces instead of just a 1-2 inches width. You need some 100% cotton fabric ... and my trick has been to stick with my favorite colours only (soft colours of white, beige, pink, cream, green and blue ... all matching together). It is like doing scrapbooking ... however inventory you have, it’s finding what matches together that is the challenge! so, I make sure I only grab/buy/keep laces/fabric that are in my color palette to help me. If the pink is too vivid, if the blue is too royal ... I let it go and stick with my ‘baby’ colours, soft colours. then, the other trick for me is to see my inventory ... this is why I have a wall of laces. Speading yours on the couch is a good idea for sure 👍🏼 do you struggle more with the laces or the papers to use? ephemera?
@barbaracabrera2072 жыл бұрын
@@odulcina Thank you so much for responding. One big problem is my terrible memory. That's why I watch your videos and then go work right away. It's bad to get old!! Haha! I think its the laces. I have cheese cloth but it always looks trashy. Not beautiful like yours. Laces ate difficult cuz they are so different. So its hard to try to copy your project to learn. I heard you say not too much glue! I have been using so much glue. And with less glue it looks better. That was a big help.

I know this will sound meaning, but I think sometimes we put more money into making these than o e could ever sell them for. Like applicases and laces aren't cheap. And the material flowers aren't cheap either. I feel we e gotten far a away from what j It means to reuse or junk journal. Just sayin. But I do admit it is beautiful!! You have a great eye for designing.
@odulcina Жыл бұрын
most of my creations, I take used laces that came from clothing, given to me from people around me that didn’t know what to do with them, doilies from thrift stores etc. I get laces from Crafty Me Shop! and buy some but those, I only use little pieces at a time as I think like you … it would value too much. I got 4 wedding dresses so far with tons of appliques at the thrift store for almost nothing and these are a real good supply for cheap laces. Ladies that stopped sewing and are glad to give me their laces … with time, you can get quite a good stash of laces for free but if you buy the laces at the regular price, you don’t sell the project, you keep it for yourself :) For me, the creations are a hobby to create, I don’t do them for the money even if I appreciate getting money for them but if I calculate my time, it is not paid a lot for sure. 🙈
