[Tutorial] Dreamcast Agetec arcade stick Full Sanwa Modding

This is a video of my modding on an agetec's arcade stick. i've tried to do an homemade Tutorial for a FULL SANWA MOD for the official Agetec Sega dreamcast Arcade stick.

You're welcome mate! ;) The stock agetec's buttons and stick are not too bad....but the Sanwa's buttons and stick are really better...it's another stick with these components ;) In my opinion....you could search a used agetec stick on ebay for few money and do the Sanwa's upgrade....you will have one of the best stick ;)

@whiteguysamurai ok!!! now i understood the question :D (i hope) yes yes, I got rid of the original plugs...they are really small...I wanted to do a clean job and I preferred to use some new plugs...so i replaced them with some 2.8 mm faston plugs...this kind of plugs are perfect to use with Sanwa button ;)

The agetec is the official dreamcast arcace stick...and it's very good also from standard;) ......but the sanwa parts, in my opinion, are the best.....better than the agetec stock parts.....so...doing the upgrade you can improve the quality of your agetec stick with the sanwa parts...you will change a very good stick, in a perfect stick ;)!!! Ciao and if you want i can give you the link where i bought the Sanwa parts!

is it possible to install a mc cathulu into a stick like this and still keep the original dreamcast functionality including vmu

@food4damoon You must block the stick and unscrew the green ball...usually it's not too much hard to unscrew it......but if it is too hard.....when you have removed the lower panel....you can block the stick from the inside with a screwdriver and unscrew the green ball with your hand ;) (sorry for my bad english...i hope you can understand me anyway....tell me if i you didn't understand me...Ciao!!!!)

Excellent video!!! In every way. Thank you. I was thinking of looking for one of these Agetec sticks. But are Agetec's stick and buttons that much inferior to Sanwa's to require this mod? Or are you just modding a 'good' arcade stick to make it that much better?

I'm new to the (proper) arcade mod scene. Though I've made an awesome Dreamcast arcade cabinet a while back (2001), it uses a simple arcade stick set-up. I'm not familiar with Sanwa arcade components and why they are so good. I've heard that the Agetec arcade stick was the better of DC's 3rd party arcade sticks. Is the Agetec not that good, that you would need to "upgrade" it by modding with Sanwa's components? Any info about Sanwa, or anything on arcade modding, is greatly appreciated.

Looks like we could probably save a couple bucks and buy a JLF without the plate as it doesn't look like it's used anyway, right? Unless you use the screws from the JLF or from the original case?

@Quekil830 what kind of stick do you have? Sanwa, Seimitsu or some other kind of stick? If you have a Sanwa stick you can follow the tutorial...i writed the wire color combination to connect the stick... ;)

you would have to get a different pcb,also you would have to make a custom front panel cause there simply isnt any room for 2 additional buttons.unless you would use the 24mm push-buttons(and even then it would BARELY fit ) bottom line...you dont need the PPP,KKK buttons...theyre just a waste and they'd kill the integrity of the beautiful and elegantly positioned push-buttons of the green goblin
