This is the first time I've ever seen anyone do a break-in on the bench. I will give that a try on my next build.

Definitely an important and necessary step in a ball diff build I learned from the guys who race 1/10th scale buggies who primarily use ball diffs for racing! - Mitch

Amazing job what cleaner can I use to clean the parts before I start ? Is it a special cleaner or can I use some alcohol?

What do you clean the ball bearings with before starting the process?

awsome tutorial on how to build a ball diff! i know ball diffs have been around since the 80s and some people swear by them with their life! though i have had this burning question for some time now.. is there a difference between a ball diff and a gear diff? apart from being a ball diff with balls.. and a gear diff with gears.. Is a ball diff better? or does it last longer? or something else maybe?

So on my GRK ball diff I never did break in 🫣 ive ran it probably 6-8 batteries already. Any way of properly tune it or is it just a preference on how tight it should be ? Cause I did tighten it like half a turn a few days ago and it felt a bit more stable.

Usually preference for tightness. It seems a majority tend to prefer looser on low grip surfaces and tighter on high grip surfaces.

Does this work for all ball diffs in general or just the Yokomo version?
@RollingGarageRc Жыл бұрын
Most if not all ball diffs should have generally the same parts so this build and break-in process should work for all ball diffs.
