I don't know if you watch Shannon Green but she puts some of her homemade washi in a book with pages made of wax paper or parchment. She puts the tape on the wax paper to paint it, I'm pretty sure it's Shannon it might be sparemarbles but whomever it is it's a good idea! Enjoyed watching you.

Great video & new subscriber! I haven't crafted in years due to health issues. Well I'm completely disabled now & tired of just sitting in this chair watching videos. I'm ready to try again. I started buying some supplies & WOW! I burned a hole in my Credit Card & barely got anything. So I started looking for DIY Videos & kept finding yours. Love them! I'm a night owl too. Pain keeps you awake so I do things that release endorphins. Oh & I live in PA but married a Joisey Boy! Cawfee, chawklet, love it! Keep crafting! You're amazing! 💞💞💞

kkossor I'm the same way,I'm disabled and RARELY leave the house,doctors appointments are about it. Crafting has helped me so much,but it really stinks how much things cost.😢 You spend a fortune on just a few things.. But like you I improvise as much as I'm able,thankfully I have a very supporting family who try to do everything they can to help me. I send you my prayers to you and please know your not alone..💖 I send you love and prayers to you from a fellow crafter..🌿🌹🌿

Happy Crafting & God Bless. 🙏✝️💟🎨

kkossor Hi. I'm disabled also. I'm usually just sitting in my room most of the time. I was born with Marfan Syndrome. It's a connective tissue disorder. It effects my heart, lungs, bone structure, muscle tone, eye sight an veins/arteries. I've had 5 heart surgeries, one back surgery, a hernia repair, a femoral artery repair, a tracheostomy (it's out now), an been in & out of the hospital my whole life. I'm 30 yrs old now. I like doing crafts to take my mind off all the stuff I deal with on a daily basis. Recently I've been coloring a lot. I ordered a few adult coloring books and some colored pencils online. Coloring is so relaxing. Next I'm gonna try to get the fine tip markers or gel pens to color with. Cuz it might be a lil easier than having to press down using the pencils. I hope your doing ok. Bless you🙏🏼😇

I'm the same too! I have no thyroid so my hormones are all over the place. I have a whole host of autoimmune diseases: Hashimoto's, Rheumatoid Arthritis, PCOS, lupus, Fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I'm on sooo many medications, one is the meds given to transplant patients to try to prevent rejection of the new organs. My body tried to reject my own organs, so I gave damages kidneys, liver, heart etc. Which means if I'm near someone who is sick I am pretty much guaranteed to get sick worse than the person who was sick to begin with. So if you have a cold, I will get your cold and it will trigger pneumonia. Then the docs gave me steroids, which made me gain weight soooooo fast. So now I'm pretty much a hermit. People make me sick or are just judgemental asshats and are rude. Not everyone who is heavy eats badly, but people assume fat = greedy. So KZbin is my main entertainment, I get sick of the same tv shows on repeat. I'm often awake all night because of pain, or I just spent hours in a hot bath. Thank goodness for my husband, online shopping for groceries and my craft tools! 💜💜 Love to All who live a daily struggle 💜💜

Oh yeah, I'm a night owl AND a morning person; I don't want to miss a thing! LOL. BTW, I have made washi tape before, based on someone else's video, and used medical tape and ink, but didn't like the results. Your washi tape looks more vibrant using masking tape, acrylic paint, and Staz On, so I will give that a try. Thanks for sharing 😊

+healthyjoyfulable Oh wow, you're a unicorn! Meaning, hard to find... cause someone who is a night owl is generally not a morning person lol. I am a morning person in the respect that i will stay up all night and into the morning hours and not go to bed until 7 or 8am lol and sometimes, if I have screwed up my sleep schedule so much, Ill stay up all night, AND all the next day and go to bed at 7pm to be able to get yp nice and early the day after lol But I get what you say about not wanting to miss a thing because I dont sleep much and hate sleeping because I would rather be crafting or watching youtube for inspiration lol so i will generally only sleep 4 or 5 hours, just enough to get through and not miss too much lol Glad you like the washi :) Thanks for watching!

Stazon reinker is sold with a versa mark reinker as well at Joann's and use a coupon its not too bad. Wish I could twinkle my nose and magically give you mine. I actually just bought a black stazon ink pad and had bought the reinker because I needed the versa mark reinker that came with both. Thanks for sharing and I will have to try and make some washi. I will finally be able to use my stazon. Makes sure you clean those stamps really well. That Stazon is very staining. I actually bought Stazon cleaner and was using it for cleaning all my stamps like all the time until I found out to only use when cleaning rubber stamps from Stazon ink.

Wow!! You are a night owl too!!! I have been trying to get my days and nights turned around and I am up very early this morning! I woke up at 2:30 am and never went back to sleep but did lay down till about 6:am and got on line checking comments and other videos! I have made some washi last year but it was before I was making video's. Maybe I will do a video on how I made some of my washi. I made some not too different from you though! It's so fun making your own! Right now I don't have the space till I get my room back clean and can get to my work table! Oh.. By the way.. Where did you get that huge black mat you are working on? I have never seen one like that! That is nice to make long washi on! My mat is a glass one but it's not as big as yours! Also was that expensive? I have seen some huge plastic mats at Tuesday Mornings before but I just thought they were too expensive! I am a very frugal shopper!! I have to be!!! Also some times that wax paper will stick to the tape..NOT GOOD!! What can work even better.. save the bags from cereal and clean them real good cut them open and use them! I use them for everything now instead of wax paper and it saves me money on buying wax paper! I use it to put between pages in my journal when i am painting or gluing! It works so much better and it's FREE!!! You can also make small bags from it to put little items in! I have done that too :) I'll do a video here some time.. I have been so behind on making videos! My health is poor and this has been a very bad week for me! I've been sickly all week but hoping to feel better so I can catch up on my videos! In the mean time I have enjoyed watching your videos and some of my other friends! Have a blessed day :)

I liked making the washi, but found that when I wound it up on itself, the paint came off. The best tape I found for that not happening, was actually adhesive tape (for bandages). But it doesn't tear or feel much like washi. It does hold up on letters through the mail though. Making washi tapes is rather addictive! Thanks for being such an inspiration! I love experimenting!!!!! 😀😍😎

@HalfShelli8 жыл бұрын
Now that you've had a number of months to store your homemade washi tape, I was wondering, how is it holding up over time? I also worried about the paint sticking to the adhesive on top of it after you rolled it up;?is yours still staying viable after being stored this long? But even more so, I would think for sure that the paint would crackle and peel after being rolled up like that. I'm thinking this whole process might be safer using permanent inks instead (or even water-based inks and then sealing them with a spray-on fixatif or something). Could you let us know what your experiences have been? Thanks!
@PinkPoodleCrafts8 жыл бұрын
+Shelli Meyers Mine are fine, i just used them not long ago. If you spray a fixative then they will for sure stick together, dont do that. You can try some inks, like alcohol inks. Im sure there are many things you can use. :) Hope this helped.

Hi I'm Sherri, I just started doing crafting and arts about 3 months ago, and one of the very first things I tried was this video, But the diff with my washi tape I used old eye shadows and blushes, and then stamped some of my homemade mini stamps, then went over them with clear gesso to seal it and they are absolutely amazing, I love them so much and they are so Freakin beautiful, that I can't bare to use them on anything. I go to pull them out, unroll a few to look at what I want to put on my cards and books and just put them back. I just love how they turned out, I would love to send you a pic for you to do whatever you wish to do with it. I would love to even send you a free sample, why Because you are the one that inspired me to get up and get going to better suit my life. Something along those lines that your friend you mentioned back in a video a while ago, that just recently bought a shop from someone that sold trinkets of all kinds. Amazing shop she has BTW. Thank u for the referral to her shop. Plz let me know if this is something you would like to do at my E-mail. cherthecreationofartstudio@gmail.com ..... Take care my dear always Sherri

Hi Sherri! I am glad you mentioned clear gesso because that would be the only sealant I would have suggested to use since it wouldnt stick to itself. Im glad you brought that up. Here is my email: pinkpoodlecrafts@gmail.com shoot me a message if you have the chance. Thanks.

Hi my friend. I was just wondering how I could go about getting some of you home made Gesso's. I tried making my own from some guys video using baby powder, WHOA what a smell it creates after being sealed for a week or two of no use, I physically got sick from the smell it created. So I had to toss it, I don't even want to attempt to try again, f!@#$%^ assholes out there who create these video's to help you, meanwhile they are just screwing with your crafts supplies when they do these false uses. Does these people have nothing better to do than to screw up someone's craft supplies . The frustrations just keep coming. Unhappy crafting friend.

deborah james Its a lot of fun! And you never know, you may use it somewhere down the line...especially if you already made a batch and have it on hand :)

oh wow,that´s a lot of preperation and your desk gets messy and then you have to clean up everything...I guess I just buy washi for 1$ instead^^

the point is more about making it for fun and it being your own custom washi... of course you can buy it cheap but sometimes handmade things are just A nice touch on packages and whatnot plus its fun as shit to make :)

fruitbat girl I really think that's the life of a crafter. Getting Messy desk and make thinks your own way. My opinion tho. Because I love creating my own things my own wallets out of duct tape yes is a lot of work and time but at the end I have created something unique :)
