Great tutorial, thanks! Very informative. It's important for beginners to know the why behind things; most tutorials you're just watching someone work.

Aha! So that is how those phone scanners without LIDAR work! I knew that they somehow track the footage not building really 3D-mesh afterwards but only tracking points. Great explanation, as always! Thank you!

I just spent 2 hours using the mask constraint tags. I have about 6 tag and they all have keyframes over 250 frames. For some reason they dissappeared! I can see the keyframes in the timelines so I know its there but I cant see them in the viewport. I have no idea what I did or why they dissappeared. Any suggestions??? thanks!

i have followed along with this tutorial step-by-step and when i create a mask using the designated button in the tracking layout, i CANNOT move any points, and the tracker ignores the mask entirely. every time. can't seem to find any solutions.

i would bring the number of tracks you have down, sometimes the length of footage combined with the number of tracks overwhelms your system

what if - instead of a statue - you have a moving and rotating head? can this type of tracking be done in C4D in order to add a mask / helmet or even replace the head? thanks :)

How to set the Camera Settings for iPhones / none-full frame sensors? Tried it with the Sony ZV-1 and the mason help files doesn‘t help at all. Especially with modern camera specifications having full frame equivalent specifications etc. What is the process of finding all the information to add correctly set the Camera Settings for an iPhone? An NPC camera and cameras that have stabilization enabled so there is a crop on the footage? And how are the linked variables in the camera settings table for „constant and known“ calculated (the Formular)? All this combined is confusing af 😵💫 and there is no proper resource explaining it

We can move 2D canvas now, that's great, but why masks so dark? And it would be better if there was some visual representation of masks area - so we can SEE it's in add or subtract mode

This would be really useful. Maxon please, consider adding this feature :)

Great tutorial! When I render a frame to picture viewer it only shows the objects with a black background. How do I get the frame of the footage to render also with the objects?

Have done it the way you do, but now I'm facing the problem of how to save the finished video (as, for example, MP4 file)! I've tried rendering, but just render the cube and the video in the background not, is that normal? Does this need to be combined with the video editing program? PS: Thank you in advance for the answers!!!
@AB-mv1mb5 жыл бұрын
so you are saying that when you hit render only cube renders and the video in the background doesn't show up? the simple solution to this problem is creating background object which is an option when you click on the motion tracker object. most people just render the 3d object and its passes like shadow reflection because rendering with background increases render time. if you want to render it for rough work you can try software opengl renderer it is very fast and useful for this king of things hope this helps!

If you couldn't resolve this issue, in the Advance Settings in the Reconstruction tab, lower the number in the Min Angle. I was having the same issue, hope this helps even if my message is 1 year apart.

@@MaxonVFX The footage link doesn't work. Is it still available somewhere? I searched on Cineversity, but I didn't see this tutorial there. Or is there a newer one that would teach the same concepts? The closest I could find was the Blaster Walk, but this seemed like I would learn different techniques.

@@MaxonVFX Any chance you can update that link? It appears to be broken.
The masking solution is still horrible, and the guy is SO excited you can now move the entire mask wohooo!!! Can't even place points outside. I recommend doing the masking with autotracking in Davinci Resolve beforehand.
