oddly what i noticed is that there is just a 2-3 fps difference between using EA with Volumetric clouds and legacy clouds, BUT theres a 50fps difference with EA completely off.

Nice video! I'm still using P3dv4.5 with a potpourri of weather programs being Envdir presets, ActiveSky+ASCA, REX SkyForce3D+Environment. Very pleased with the combination so I'll stick with it for some time to come...

Does anyone know the trick to get an accurate overcast base height? If I select overcast stratus at say 500feet it is around 1200feet above the target height! In another words if I set 500feet overcast base and I’m at say 1000feet I can see the ground clearly.

Hello Friend Greetings. i am going to buy a new gpu for prepar3d v5.2. I see you have the rx6900xt and it looks phenomenally good. I have also read that the nvidia gpu are better for the prepar3d, do you know something about the subject? Do you know if it is true or false? I ask you all this because I am undecided between rtx3080 or rx6900xt I would be grateful for your help or anyone who can recommend me. Beforehand thank you very much

Hi there, I have the rtx 2070 super. I am very happy with it. I don't know if the nvidia gpus are generally better but I can only recommend: get at least 8GB of VRAM. everything less will be a struggle.

thanks mate. Active Sky will work, Sky force I am not sure since I don't have it. But I have seen people use it already on 5.2 so I think it should work just fine.

Regarding all this with the clouds how is all this effected if using Rex for clouds ?

REX is doing the same as Active Sky Cloud Art, just the clouds are gonna look a bit different (even a bit better compared to ASCA in my opinion)

Nice Video.. I have recieved a problem in P3Dv5.2 and that is text is not visible especially of fps indicator and other primary text .

Maybe I never saw clouds IRL. But true sky looks way more realistic and true. Default and rex clouds look too outstanding from other skies, they look drawn. Its my opinion

I agree absolutely. I also like the cloud texture of true sky better. But I really dislike the weather depiction of TrueSky that's mainly why I am still using the old clouds.

I had many gpu crashes with v5.1 so just sticking with v4.5. Have you ever experienced anything like that in 5.1? & if so, is it fixed?

Yes, that was quite common in 5.1. It has become better in 5.2. But there are easy ways to get around this: Texture Resolution and could density being the easiest ones. So if you want to I would recommend switching over to 5.2. Performance in general is just so much better than in 4.5

This will really help me since i have only 4gb Vram and i really like EA but not the clouds So Legacy is a game changer for me!
