Tutorial: recycle your toilet roll cores into ephemera !

Hi Angela! I really enjoy your videos and all your beautiful work. I also wanted to share a tip with you. When I flatten my paper rolls I then use my hair flat iron on them. It flattens them real flat with no need to put them under a heavy item. Best of it all not waiting for flatness to occur. Give it a try guaranteed to work! XXX

Hi Angela. I love this idea. I keep an old flat iron (used for straightening hair) in my craft room to iron anything that doesn't want to lie flat on its own. It works great on TP rolls!

@@AngelaKerrDesigns I'm at 14 min so far... 2 things I would suggest, not for you, but for other viewers... If you are paranoid about using toilet rolls (some people are worried about bathroom germs in the air, that sit on bathroom surfaces) then all you have to do is to lightly spritz the tubes with an antibacterial spray... This will take care of any germs. AND a second benefit to spritzing them, is that your tubes being lightly misted (not drenched!) are really easy to squash flat! Like, ultra flat! 😁

@@AngelaKerrDesigns final summary... Absofuckinglutely beautiful! Truly! SO pretty! The way you coordinate colours and layers is gorgeous. The first page "oh my!" all those lilac shades are just lovely, and the fussy cuts overlapping the pockets really blends everything INTO the page, as opposed to ONTO the page. The second one is a beautiful layout style and again the delicate fussy cuts and 2 baby butterflies just give the whole thing such a soft, blended, whimsical feel. I MUST get myself a stash of fussy cuts and die cut foliage etc, all the soft layering is so pretty and makes such a difference to the finished look. You also make things a LOT neater than many crafters do, your precision and attention to detail is outstanding! Whoever buys one of your journals must feel so special and cherished. You do truly make very beautiful things, and you make them beautifully! I need to get fussy cutting (ugh!) and stock up on small die cut flowers, butterflies and foliage etc! I also want to get more napkins. And at some point must get a new sewing machine! I don't have any resolutions because i accept myself for who I am and always try my best to be polite and kind to others. If I think I need to work on something within me, I do it when it's called for rather than a specific date. I think resolutions add pressure to succeed, and IF you fail, it makes the failure more agonising. But I wish everyone the very best of willpower for successfully sticking to their chosen resolutions. But be reasonable with yourself, you may slip up along the way, accept it and move on fresh the next day! Happy new year Angela, thank you for your beautiful creations this year and well done for getting a thousand subscribers! Maybe your channel will soar so high you'll be able to give up work, and just craft all day! Being paid for what you love to do! Run local craft sessions, host retreats, do demos, online courses etc. CEO of your life! 😁 I just know your subscribers are going to grow and grow. The community will spread the word about you no doubt to their crafty friends and groups, it's just that kind of supportive community! In fact I've never known so many wonderful, kind and friendly ladies in my entire life! I wouldn't have even imagined so many existed! Truly, I've known some bitchy females that I've cast off along the way, and it was only discovering junk journaling that I realised oh so THAT'S where the nice women have been hiding! I think 2020 is going to be huge for you I really do! And it will be truly deserved! Your work is simply lovely! 😘😘😘

And I have a tip for flattening your paper rolls nice and flat. After folding them with your bone folder, use your hot flat iron on them or iron I suppose.
