Tutorial - Sprite Animation - Lesson 1: Ripping Sprites

Simple: i rip them myself in order to prepare them for the animation process. If i take an sheet of any of those sites, i'll have to "assemble" the sprites, frame by frame. And it's pretty hard to work with images sequences in Sony Vegas, so i convert them to video files. By doing this way, i'm preserving the original sprite's frame rate, and in the case of Zero here, the sprites also will be at the center of the screen and at the same height, so i won't have to adjust them later.

Thanks! They should be on your save states folder. If you don't specify one, they should be on the same directory as the currently loaded ROM. You can specify paths on "CONFIG" > "PATHS" on ZSNES 1.51.

Well, i think you have two options: Take several screenshots and try this: if Mac's gloves are blocking (for example) the legs, go in photoshop and cut the part that isn't blocked. Then, try to take a screenshot when his legs aren't blocked, then cut the legs and paste it on the first image and so on. Hey, how can I animate a background sprite? I want to make a gif of the sky with stars and hills of world 3-1 and of the sky with stars without hills of world 3-2 from super mario all stars (smb1); I got the sprites, but I don´t know how to animate them, or how to convert sprite animations to gifs, could you help me?

Why don't you just get the sprites from "Sprites Inc." or "The Spriters Resource"? Rather than ripping them yourself?
