Sound samples and a comparison with the (Baja) Telecaster and the Broadcaster wiring can be found in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYnWdqRmi8eVrdU It also presents the idea of having multiple control plates with quick connectors for one Telecaster. This video here is just the bare tutorial how to do this wiring.

Haha, thanks. Took me quite a bit to get it working somewhat smoothly. :D Was curious who's the first to comment on it too. Cheers, Martin

We have a separate video comparing Esquire, Broadcaster and Telecaster (Baja) for that. There we show all 3 wirings in the same guitar. We intentionally split these videos. Maybe I should link it right in the beginning. Thanks for the input! Cheers, Martin

Thank you for this video. I recently purchased a Squire Esquire. I'm trying to learn and understand the stock wiring in order to make modifications and make upgrades. Your tutorial video has definitely added to my knowledge.

Hey @Giulio Luzzardi. Thanks for the comment, glad it helped. Check out this video for some tones (we wanted to have the wiring tutorials separate and short): kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYnWdqRmi8eVrdU Cheers, Lukas

Another great tutorial. I really like the addition of the red Xs. I wonder if the Esquire wiring is growing on you over time.
@LMGuitarCorner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Charles! Yeah, I honestly still have some problems with it. As I'm mostly a neck PU guy, just having the bridge plus an ultra aggressive mode of the bridge is somewhat challenging. The "bass position" is also not something I'd normally use as a guitar player unless I need an emergency solution for a bass. So I mostly use something I also have with any standard Tele wiring as well. Cheers, Martin

Yes, this was really well laid out and clearly presented.

Great video, can I suggest you show the final result on the finished guitar, as there are several wiring options with the Esquire and you did not specify which one this is. The most common I believe is position 1= Straight to socket, 2= includes tone and volume and 3= the mud cap. Thank you
@LMGuitarCornerАй бұрын
Thanks a lot. To my knowledge, the Esquire wiring was always the one you've described with variations in component values. I've tackled that a bit in the parts list section. All other configurations I know of have their own name, like the most prominent, the "Eldred Mod". I thought without stating a mod name, it would be clear to anyone searching for that wiring, which one I'm explaining. Do you happen to know another "unnamed" Esquire configuration? Anyway, I'll certainly keep in mind to also explain the functions of the positions the next time I make a wiring tutorial. Thanks for the constructive criticism, appreciate this a lot! Cheers, Martin

@@LMGuitarCorner Thank you, I am converting a Tele so I am delighted to have such a great instruction on the wiring. Thank you.
@LMGuitarCornerАй бұрын
@@tiptizlode4995 You're welcome! I should probably do the eldred mod as well and change my Esquire wired plate to that one, because I can't really find much use of that position 3. But I wanted to do the two classic wirings (Esquire and Broadcaster) and test them for myself. Cheers, Martin

What rappends if I take off the 3.3k resistor ?
@LMGuitarCorner2 ай бұрын
@moicarock What do you mean with taking it off? Make the resistance 0 or leave the connection open? Reducing the resistance will make the sound darker in the "bass" position. I don't find this position really useful in general, but making it even darker than with the ~3k would probably make it even less useful. Cheers, Martin
