I got my D7100 second hand and there were dust particles in the same places, on pictures of the blue sky, using different lenses. I tried the auto sensor-cleaning feature but the spots were still there. I got a sensor cleaning kit from eBay and the second pass of cleaning took every spot off. The D7100 is a fantastic camera! Btw, don’t forget to regularly clean your lenses, especially the back elements and the lens mount too. Failure to do so can mean that dust left in these places, can and will drop onto the sensor.

Looks like you need a 4 year college degree to use this camera. Great video ! I am taking a chance buying this camera as I am a true beginner at age 67 .I plan on getting the 50mm f1.8 as I am most interested in taking portraits of my grandchildren. I do have lenses left over from my N65 camera that I can only use in manual mode. Hopefully when I purchase the camera the people at the store can get me started in a basic camera mode. Thanx again for your video....will be watching many times over. Dennis

Thanks for this video. There's something I STILL don't understand (despite not being an absolute beginner !). If you compare the Nikon's D3300, D5500 and D7100 (just as examples) and you put exactly the same lens on them, and you ignore "features" such as wifi, flipscreen, bracketing capacity (and even build quality which I know is better on the 7100), what DIFFERENTIATES these cameras in terms of stills and videos quality ? They have the same sensor size, same pixels more or less. Why is the D7000/D7100 better than the D3300 in terms of actual photography or videography ? I can't work it out. I tried to find answers on the internet but couldn't. If you read this, thanks a lot for your answer !!!
@DigitalGojaUSA7 жыл бұрын
Hi there, besides the differences already mentioned, newer cameras have better processors, more ISO range, faster shutter speed and more autofocus points that allow you to process faster and better pictures.

Hi Izzy. Thanks again for your previous answers to my two questions concerning the functions of D7100, they were helpful ! Now one more question: How can I get the camera to name the files I retouched in-camera (straightening, cropping etc.) not DSC.... , but CSC.... (just as it is the case on my previous D5300) ? This would be practical, as the retouched files do not need much further changes on a computer. The naming of files should be somewhere in the settings menu. Grateful in advance ! Vyacheslav
@DigitalGojaUSA7 жыл бұрын
Hi Vyacheslav, the photos that are edited by default should have the CSC, if this does not work we would suggest contacting Nikon for support, we do not have that camera in our store so we are not able to test it.

Hi Christopher! Both are good cameras, the main difference of the D7200 over the the D7100 is the wireless connection and NFC connection (to transfer photos to your phone straight to your camera). Besides that, both cameras have almost the same technical specifications. :)

@DigitalGojaUSA4 жыл бұрын
Hello Yadira. First, I would recommend that you change the mode dial to P. Next, press the menu button and in the shooting menu (camera icon) there is an option to reset the shooting menu (I believe this is usually the first option). Select yes. There is also a Two-button Reset to restore the camera to default settings. All you have to do is press and hold the ISO and +/- buttons for two seconds. Both buttons will be marked by a green dot. Let us know if that helps you out. Take care.
