I’ve also got the D7w00. I wouldn’t trade it for a “mirror less” (that doesn’t even sound right) for anything. I’ve been using my D7200 for 10 years and I wouldn’t sell it for a million dollars.

My question is for a D7000 so not a huge difference and I hope that you might be able to answer my question. How do I replay videos on the back of the camera? Is this possible? If so, just what do I do to take a video (I can do this, I think, not entirely sure) and the difficulty is replaying the recorded video on the camera or do I need to connect it to a device (pc/laptop/tablet et al) as the only way? if you can answer my question, or even deem it within your purview. I would be most grateful if you choose to answer this question and hope that you do and that it is not too difficult for you to do so. - Mark, Australia.

Hi Skinny, when you have recorded a video, just push the play button on the back of the camera, in the same way as you would to view a photo. If you now press the 'OK' button the video will play. Hi Ivan, unfortunately there is no function on the D7100 to do that. It will be included on the images EXIF data but not directly onto the image. That function tended to be on lower end cameras. Thank you for watching, Dave.

Hello. My nikon d7100 is stuck to P mode. It wont change to any other mode even if i change to auto or manual the display and settings will still remain to P mode. Kindly help me the way forward.

Hi Mo, it is not a problem I am familiar with. Do you have a lens on the camera? Some function changes will only work with a lens attached. I would also try turning the camera off, removing the lens and battery, then put everything back and try again. I hope this may help, stay safe, Dave.

You were really struggling by the time you got to F1 😊 I couldn't take any more in by then too. Phew! All the AF modes baffle me too, the biggest step I found for much better photos was using 1/1600 shutter speed in sports mode....

Dave, you didn't bother to add annotations or edit the video at 19:09 and skipped the most important section viz. f4 settings rather seemingly deliberately. Will refer another video on why to customise it in a preferred particular way. Additionally what is mode A in f5 ?

Hi Aziz, having re-watched the video I can see that i have made an error, when talking about assigning the AE-L/AF-L button, the camera is still on the Preview button section of the menu. Sorry for any confusion. Dave.

Thanks for the exhaustive guide - I'd like to ask you about "AF Area modes" when the camera is set to AF-S. With the D750 you can choose to have a single focus point (which you can place anywhere), multiple focus points and even all of the focus points. But it seems that the D7100 only lets you have a single point in AF-S. Do I have that correct? If you do have other choices for the the D7100 in AF-S, then please tell me how to access them - Thanks
