I prefer to layer other things and leave the percussion pretty basic for trip hop, letting my kicks claps and snares do most of the work, but I might have to try this.

The best way to approach Drums is to listen to as much genre-defiant material as possible, learn as many techniques as you possibly can from ppl you know, & then just get your hands dirty n make your own Drum loops from scratch. Adobe have just released all their official software for FREE download tho (7Gigs worth!) which has many loops in the Adobe Audition 3.0 folder I'm told. But I had many problems with Drums sounding weak & pithy, so I took a whole year out to study them & now I'm ok! lol

Iol Yes well I may not be as competent & fast as you! Drums is something I've always just found really hard to get right. And no one was around to tell me how to get it right. I suppose it's harder for me because I want every song to have unique & original drums! So you make samples? I don't use samples myself :) But I'll give anything a try! I cannot get enough of music & sound! But I must warn you.. I take it very seriously. I don't expect the Prodigy's Drums but I will be honest about it. ;)

Thanks man but that was 4 months ago. I basically spent that much time perfecting my drum techniques and (not to brag or anything) now i feel like every single kick and snare sample i've been making is better than anything i can find on youtube. This is kinda random, but I've been wanting to share a few of my samples to see what others thought of them. So would you like to test a kick and snare?
