Great tutorial. For info I found, if the door wouldn't unlock due to faulty motor, tapping the door near the lock with a rubber mallet while pressing the key fob often made the lock work for a short time.

To check if it works fine, do i have to reconnect the window regulator as well? My reason to disassemble was the door light not working, the bulb is ok, but the dooe panel light still doesnt come on when the door is open. Thank you

Awesome detailed video but unfortunately I couldn’t get into the stage of removing the mechanism from the door… as the passenger door module is dead and it is stuck in lock position, I managed to remove the door panel from the inside and reached to the mechanism but the lock still resistant to unlock it and I think the issue is that the safelock system is active and I’m not sure how to unlock it manually due to electrical failure to operate the mechanism …. Any suggestions to open the door ?

I had the typical microswitch problem on a 2007 Fabia: no headlight warning, no interior lights, boot wouldn't open until rear door opened first. Turned out the microswitch was ok but the cam that operates it has a thin plastic skin over it. The microswitch 'pip' had warn a 1mm groove in the plastic cam surface and the switch no longer functioned when the door opened. The mechanical part of the lock is rivetted together and not easily serviced. New door lock required.

Hi, i want to share my problem with my right door (passenger side), so... when i press the button for locking i hear that the mechanism is making its move, but when i pull the door handle from the outside the door is opening, is there something like a sensor, that knows when the door is locked and doesnt allow you to open the door from outside ? Let me add that before all that the the machanism was working olnly when the outside temp was warm, so i opened the mecchanism and used soldering iron , and then the mechanism startes to work but then the problem from up above accured.
