to anyone reading this comment, take the time to practice and screw around in the void, i promise it'll pay off the more you try. devil may cry is a fighting game at heart more than any kind of character action game and you have to take the time to get the moves INGRAINED into your muscle memory. im serious, i know a lot of people reading this might not play fighting games but that's the number 1 thing you need to do in order to become a sick cutscene vergil/dante/nero/V. just take the time, practice sick combos in the void, see what moves can link and combo into other moves and you'll be doing sick combos in no time. capcom knows what they're doing, and the more you 'level up' internally the sicker you'll get at the game please just trust me. a lot of these amazing combo videos are made because these guys FEEL what moves combo into other moves after playing so long. good luck devil hunters

Man this helps a lot, i was playing combo videos at slow speed to understand what was happening so i can try and copy things. I would’ve never noticed some of the stuff you explained here by just watching combo vids. Thanks so much for this.

Dante's air combos and enemy juggling tend to require a lot of actions per second, which is why it is somewhat difficult without quick fingers. This is especially true on keyboard, which require fast management of key presses. As an example one of the most used juggling moves is DSD's high time using summoned swords. This one requires the player to immediately switch to trickster and teleport to the new enemy position as quickly as possible, otherwise the enemy will drop again. Dr Faust is also an invaluable tool for air combos being that it is the only one in Dante's arsenal able to pull an enemy to Danre in mid air.

quick question, after the launcher into beawolf spin into Yamato cut and taunt.. the teloport before the judgement cut is it a trick up into judgement cut or trick to the enemy judgement cut?

I'm new to this game and I had no clue about any "weight" mechanic can someone explain this to me?

Basically if you stay in the air for too long you gain weight; this means that the physics of the game "forces you" to reach the ground eventually. You can reset your weight by doing jump cancelling (jumping on the head of an enemy) if you bought the skill 'enemy step'.

Yes, also resets all your actions, so you can keep in the air pretty much infinitely.

I have a question, in this dmc you can't no longer do the trick reset bug from Dmc4? Like doing sequential judgement cuts or Beowulf starfall reset

You can jc trick into jc, but not Beowulf into jc in vanilla unfortunately

No, partially. In DMC4 you can cancel any move with trick. Here in DMC5, some moves can be cancelled. For example, starfall beowulf can be cancelled with trick up (no grim trick).

Nelo in this tutorial and with Variants with JdC of yours I see that quite important is keepin melee and usage of jump cancel. Im on ps4 and its quite hard to keep triangle button while using X button. Any recomendations to change configuration? Or it is possible to learn in time on deafult controls? It is possible in default but I suggest to use Trick button (or Jump) in a shoulder button so you can use all the three (Jump, Melee and trick) efficiently.
